Hi everyone, hope you have all had an amazing Christmas and new year, I had a great time, started my new year with my sympathectomy operation on 3rd January, I’m in a bit of pain at the incision sites but the pain is nothing like I was experiencing before. My affected right hand now has better blood

Exercise can be just as effective as some meds for lowering high blood pressure ❤️
Hello everyone, Well its official exercise is good for 'us' it's still tentative so don't stop your meds yet but this is very encouraging and in a way obvious as many of us know the importance of not only a healthy diet but a healthy diet combined with sufficient exercise for us is the obvious best choice

Sympathectomy update
Hi, I’ve just got back from seeing my surgeon, he has explained what he needs to do, he will make 2 small incisions on either side of my wrist and an incision in my palm and do what he needs to do. He has explained there is a small risk of failure, this could lead to making the blood flow worse and could

Help!! Any knowledge or advice really appreciated.
Obviously we know
amputation
is a big thing but the toes are totally dead and we worry about blood poisoning and that type of thing. Please, please any knowledge or advice would be really appreciated. We are all very scared that things could get a whole lot worse if something is not done.

Beaware of Diabetic fatigue Leg syndrome : Leg lower limbs cramp, ache , pain, getting tired easily? Take care before it becomes too late
Every one minute, One diabetic leg
amputation
takes place in the world. It is scary and most of the diabetes may have this symptom at some stage unless timely treatment is initiated. I had tired legs and I thought it may be due to my long walk which I do twice or thrice a day.

My story
In 2014 my brother who was 26 had a huge clot in his leg in which they were sure they were going to amputate but instead was able to save it, he was put on warfarin but it turned out his body rejected it and it made no difference, he was on 17mg and his inr was at 1.6 so they gave up, less than a week

Do you ever feel sorry for yourself?
In all honesty, I suspect we all do from time-to-time. Aching legs, tired lungs, feet that shout at us to stop... I have just come in from W2R2 and I feel good, but it's not as easy as when I graduated - for lots of reasons. Then I turned on my TV and on came the AJ Bell London Triathlon... A lady was

Is your lower limb pain related to nerve injury?
It may have severe complications, including foot ulcers,
amputation
and chronic pain. The authors in this research paper estimated the prevalence of chronic pain with neuropathic (nerve-related) characteristics in diabetic patients.

The factors which increase the risk of developing diabetic foot complications in diabetics
This can lead to various complications such as ulceration (sores on the skin), gangrene (death of tissue) and
amputation
(removal of foot). Certain factors such as age and duration of diabetes can increase the risk of patients developing diabetic foot complications.

Advice on fem pop bypass prognosis
The consultant initially said he was very impressed with how well I'm healing/ moving etc but then really depressed me by telling me that the majority of bypass fail within a few years and I could be facing
amputation
in future etc!
