Worried about husband....
I'm here asking for some serious advice. I'm getting more and more worried as each day goes by and I have no-one to ask, so I've turned to this forum in the hope someone can give me some positive help. Just over a year ago, we came back from a holiday abroad and my husband noticed that he couldn't shake

Illusive Diagnosis
Hi there. I am still under investigation for endometriosis, but all symptoms and flair ups seem to be pointing in that direction. Every month my symptoms have gotten worse and this last month I have been in hospital twice with the pain being so unbearable. I am waiting for an MRI scan and if that

Eyelea at 4 month break
I had an Oct done on 8/25/17 after a 4 month break from Eyelea injection. My vision in the treated eye has been finger counting only. The new picture from the oct was not good. The macular edema returned 4+. I had another Eyelea injection and I return in 1 month. The betadine prep is usually worse than

This may be a long post but I think it's only fair to give anyone who's kind enough to read and comment, the background and a bit about me. Ok, here goes: Female, mid 40's, diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes two years ago - no meds and diet controlled from diagnosis. I have hypertension (high blood pressure

I thought I was doing great!
Hello everyone. I don't write often, I'm more of a voyeur here. Soaking in as much as I can. So last month I had one of those psycho-neuro test things done. I finished an hour and a half EARLY! So I was thankful that I'm not as bad as I thought, cognitively speaking. I had my follow up with my neuro

Betadine prep
Does anyone have a reaction to the betadine prep. My eye lid swells almost shut and the dragging feeling is almost unbearable. My pain tolerance is high but this pushes the limit.

Update
Hi everyone As you know I've just joined the forum. My fibroscan was 21.8 kpa and my iqr/med 6.1%. I've had various health issues that have meant for the last decade I have been on paracetamol, codeine, ibuprofen, amitriptyline. I couldn't cope with statins although I tried a few. It was around that

Feeling low
Hi all i'm nearly 5 weeks post op from having an hysterectomy. This week I've been feeling so low in mood and just wanting to sleep. I'm still having side effects from my prostap injection which i hope wears off very soon. I've been prescribed amitriptyline to help me sleep as the night sweats are stopping

Personally not good!
Hi, I saw a top gastroenterologist in London a few years back. He couldn't work out what was wrong with me and kept asking me questions about my sanity rather than my IBS.. he decided he wanted to put me on Amitriptyline bearing in mind I had a young child to look after. I tried it once and I felt so

Potassium iodide
When my son and I became suspicious about 2 years ago that we might have an iodine deficiency, we stumbled on Lugol's Solution and took 3 drops of it in our food for a few months. Extensive reading brought me to "Betadine", a potassium iodide solution sold in stores as an anti-biotic for scraps and minor

Does anyone know why you can't take Imigran/Sumatriptan while pregnant in the UK?
Hello, Im currently almost 11 weeks pregnant and I've just had 8 days of migraine followed by a day off, then another migraine, then a day off and now a migraine again. I'm worn out. I've had two miscarriages in the past year and I have a 3 year old. I know that in the States and in some other countries

Doctor has taken me off codydramol saying that the constant headaches could be codeine induced. He's given me Amitriptyline to take before bed and told me to take paracetamol in the day ... "and see how I get on". I've got a stonking headache, its bedtime and I've taken my Ami .... can I also take some

B12 and C677T gene mutation
Hi, I have the above gene mutation which is suppose to mean I need more B12 but tried to take it in pill form and felt awful, found out I have very low stomach acid probably for a long time so started taking HCL with betaine. No matter what I take in pill form it makes me feel worse, so I'm trying liquid

Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and head injury
One of the things I have struggled with over the years is knee pain. Two pieces of surgery and it still hurts so much. I managed to get some funds together and went to an orthopaedic surgeon whom specialises in knees. After some Xrays and an MRI the consultant gave his verdict - whilst he could see

Gabapentin - for sleep not pain?
I'm betting this is the forum where the gabapentin experts hang out....I was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease and insterstitial Lung Disease last year, and have been taking hydroxychloroquine and prednisolone ever since. This has worked well for my lungs and swollen joints etc
