Stuttering
I will be seeing the Rhematologist in October for the first time since my positive ANA result. I have began to stutter a little and sometimes have a hard time getting my words out. Is there anyone who has experience the stuttering with lupus

Redeemed skin all over
Hi I am new here. I have been referred to a rheumatologist based on a positive ANA and signs n symptoms, and just the other day Lichen Sclerosus confirmed by biopsy which I suspect I had from age 8 or 9. Since a recent symptom flare I have developed red skin pretty much all over, like i have too much

Ranitidine (Zantec): Warning in Immune (autoimmune?) Conditions. Anybody had any problems or have anymore information about this?
Hello All. My GP recently prescribed a course of Ranitidine (histamine H2 receptor antagonist) for multiple duodenal ulcers / gastritis / duodenitis. Prior to taking the tablets I read the patient information leaflet and it said to check with a pharmacist if there were problems with the immune system

Your route to diagnosis
I have read the Lupus UK guide to diagnosis but my experience doesn't really fit this. I was wondering what path others followed to their diagnosis and how they managed to get a confirmed diagnosis - and did it take months or years? My rheumatologist says I have an autoimmune disease 'in the lupus/sjogrens

Dr appointment today
Seen a difference dr today and says my positive ana 1:320 speckled with elevated sed rate and elevated protein was "inconclusive and insignificant". I possible have autoimmune progesterone dermatitis, and that interests him. I assume because it is rare. I understand that the tests I had do not determine

Let's start this over
I deleted my last post about my 2nd Rheumy appt.. I was being a little whiny and realized it after a few hrs of thinking it through. I must admit I was upset and quite frustrated that my second ana test came back negative- even though the first one was positive. My Rheumy went with the second test

Professor Graham Hughes' Monthly Blog August 2016
BLOG August 2016 What a beautiful August! And what a difference a month makes! I generally regard August as early Autumn rather than summer. Not this year! For me it was good to be back at work after my illness. This month, September, is the start of the academic year, usually peaking in October,

Hi all, I've been following this community recently. I have been suffering worsening anaemia for the 1-2yrs. I have had various tests and scopes via gastro consultant but everything was negative so i was discharged. I have now had to begin a series of iron transfusions as it was so low and tablets and

PBC and working
I have recently been diagnosed with PBC, ANA positive and a weak positive autoimmune hepatitis. I have been out of work for almost a month now. I have a very high paced job (about 50 hr's a week, plus 10 more in commute), getting up at 4am and often not returning home until well after 5. I drive about

20 years of RA frustrations?
I just want to say Thank you for this site and all of you amazing people. I read the posts often and this is my first post. I am a 54 year old female from Alberta Canada. I was diagnosed with RA in July of this year with a CCP over 1000. Not sure what that means exactly. I just know that I was put

Massively confused about RA diagnosis
Hi everybody! I am new here and also quite new to RA. I was just diagnosed July 1, 2016. I had joint pain that moved around for 3 years but I just chalked it up to sleeping wrong or something, only because I'm 30 (this started when I was 27) and I didn't even know what RA was. Well, the joint pain took

Confused - ?RA with no signs of inflammation on hand sono
I have always had intermittent neck and lower back pain from mva in my 20's. Five years ago an mva left me with intermittent hip and shoulder pain and fatigue - all bloodwork negative. Last summer the wrist, hands, ankles, and feet started getting swollen, stiff, and tingling, hip pain with only walking

Anti DS-DNA Binding Level 2
Hi everyone, I'm really confused! I'm being screened for SLE by my GP. My bloods have come back weakly positive ANA, ENA positive( apparently this was done off the back of the ANA, and it doesn't seem to specify the antibodies normally included in that panel) and this baffling statement about binding

Positive ANA and TSH 1.1. A Quick Question Prior to GP Appointment
Hello All. Blood tests in April showed a positive ANA (titre 1:40 homogeneous pattern), which my GP ignored. Another ANA test done by the gastrologist a few weeks ago also showed a positive ANA (titre unknown, waiting to go for full results). The gastrologist has written to my GP asking him to refer

Hello everyone, has anyone had a ANA test with score of positive 1.8. Does it mean I have lupus.
