Hello Everybody, I had a DEXA scan in 2020, as far as I can see the only worrying result was the neck of femur -2.7. I have just had another DEXA scan on a different machine, and the same result was -2.9. To me, that is not a great difference, having been on steroids for 2 1/2 years. I now have been

Low Ovarian Reserve - (supplements to boost eggs quality)
I'm 44 with a low ovarian reserve and multiple fibroids (which thankfully is outside the cavity). My GP referred me for NHS fertility investigations but I was rejected due to CCG criteria. My GP applied for Individual funding request but I was rejected. I had a consultation with a fertility expert

Radio 4 programme today
just listened to today's Food Programme at 15.30 via the BBC Sounds app. Really really interesting about the effect of nutrition on the brain and the importance of omega 3. It's half an hour and a must to listen to in my opinion.

T4 to T3 conversion.
Hi all, I recently had a blood test done and I have a feeling my t4/T3 conversion rate isn't good. I took the test early in the morning,. no food or drink from the night before. I regularly self inject B12 as I have pernicious anaemia. I supplement with D3, magnesium and omega 3 oil. For the past couple

How much is too much D3
Any views on taking 10,000 iu d3 daily? There’s evidence that it’s ‘safe and well tolerated’ I went to see my bone consultant today, he wasn’t impressed by me taking this amount but my calcium level is good and my dexa results have gone from -2.6 to -2.1 in 2 years I also take k2 and magnesium ,

ANRC Plus instead of B complex?
The below is my own work which I am simply sharing. I have no other agentia other than to invite comments and zero expectations. I make no claim to legitimacy or accuracy. I have less than zero medical training. It makes sense to me that any supplement should be checked to insure that an ingredient

Selective amino acid restriction therapy (SAART)
This is a follow-on from something that came up in the "
Cysteine depletion sensitizes prostate cancer cells to agents that enhance DNA damage and to immune checkpoint inhibition"
post. Some here may be unfamiliar with the idea of selective amino acid restriction. I have never been tempted to

Alendronic acid and depression
I came off Alendronic Acid because I didn’t think it was agreeable with me, it was a couple of months ago and I can’t remember the exact reason but it was on the suggestion of a consultant I was seeing for another reason and I have been fine. I started to take it again 3 weeks ago because I knew I

Cysteine depletion sensitizes prostate cancer cells to agents that enhance DNA damage and to immune checkpoint inhibition
New paper below [1]. I have always been interested in ways in which a treatment might be enhanced by supplements or dietary changes. (or repurposed drugs) In this case, "depletion of L-cysteine/cystine" was via "an engineered human enzyme, Cyst(e)inase". "PCa cells treated with Cyst(e)inase lead

When does supplementation become toxic or counter-productive?
My Dear Fellow Adventurers, Firstly, thank you for the wealth of information and inspiration - having this commuity makes so much difference! I have a question today, that I have already asked both my doctor and pharmacist (neither were able to help): as I add a new supplement every few months

Heights Smart Supplement - should I stop? Advice
Hi guys, After recently finding out I have Hashimotos (going to the Dr on Thursday) I have been taking stock on what I take and whether it is beneficial to me or could cause harm. I take the Heights Smart Supplement and wondered what you guys thought of what is inside it. I was mainly worried because

Fostair
Hi, I don't often post much on here, but I'm trying to find out if the Fostair inhaler causes
acid
reflux
. My husband had mild Asthma and mild COPD. He stopped using his Fostair for a few days to test it and had none, but he can't be without his inhaler.
