Alendronate- side effect (diarrhea)
I started alendronate 3 weeks ago and 3 days. In week 3 I am experiencing diarrhea, sometimes uncontrollable unless I take Imodium. I’ve taken this 4 years ago for 4 weeksand experienced no side effects. I wonder long I should wait to get use to it. Trying to avoid prolia. Has anyone experienced diarrhea

Worried about Alendronic Acid and pain
Hi I started AA last Thursday when my doctor rang me with the results of my Bone scan and told me I had osteoporosis, he didn’t give me any results or tell me how bad I had it, just checked what reflux medicine I was on and asked if it was controlled which it is. I took my first tablet and 4 days later

Acid reflux and indigestion
I’m experiencing
acid
reflux
and indigestion on an almost daily basis. Currently tapering Prednisolone but have had reflux daily now for the past month - my doctor has put me on lanzoprazole but it’s making very little difference.

Dry ears, eyes etc and Buckthorn Oil Capsules
I came across an article recently for dry eyes, ears etc. Has anyone taken Buckthorn Oil capsules for this? I have just purchased Omega7 which contains [i]Omega 3, 6, 7, 9 and Vit A (beta carotene) which maintains normal structure and function of the skin and mucous membranes, such as the eyes,

Dry eyes & Vitamin B12
Hi, I have just come across an article online which I thought may be of interest to anyone who suffers from dry eyes as I do: [i]Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that helps the body make DNA and nerve cells. Deficiency of this nutrient is associated with severe dry eye disease and eye pain, according

Newly Diagnosed
Hi I’ve just been told I have severe Osteoporosis after having a Dexa Scan. I’ve started Adcal D3 and I’ve been given Alendronic Acid 70mg. It’s my left hip and lumber spine which is affected, -3•5 in hip, -3•1 in lumber spine. I’ve been told I have a fracture risk of 36%. I’m naturally concerned about

Is a Fibroscan more accurate than ultrasound?
Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. I wish I'd found this site and forum years ago! I was diagnosed with PBC eight years ago and have been taking Ursodiol ever since. A Fibroscan showed cirrhosis at that time with a reading of 35 kPa. I had scans every two years since then until my last reading

Guys. I have hypothyroidism on a cellular level - meaning it is not primary, not secondary, but underactive/unresponsive within the cells. TSH normal, low- end of range t4 and t3. Both levothyroxine and Armour have increased my symptoms and made me very ill as they are not making it into the cells. Endocrinologists

Ferritin recommendation needed
Just had the results of my latest blood tests via the GP's phone call. I am in Spain and my previous sympathetic Dr has unfortunately left. This Dr was very abrupt .... A light bulb moment!
Having just read all the responses to the post by gKetan30 regarding costings of treatment for PMR/GCA, it made me suddenly realise how easily I've taken for granted access to the medication I take! I'm prescribed Alendronic Acid, Prednisolone (5mg, 2.5mg & 1mg enteric coated tabs) Calci-D, Propanolol

Hi All, apologies if this has already been covered, but since being diagnosed with PMR 3 months ago, I was automatically prescribed alendronic acid, but thanks to all the helpful info here, I also requested a Dexa scan which came back as ‘normal.’ I am also taking Ad-cal and magnesium and want to
