Are Food supplements worth a try?
Hi all, I have recently been hospitalised with an endo flare requiring a significant amount of opioids to help with the pain. i have read online that omega 3, turmeric and ginger root supplements are good at acting as an anti-inflammatory and are helpful in relieving long term chronic pain. I

Hi, The general advice to eat “healthy” for good cardiovascular function sounds sensible. eg less saturated fat and salt; more green vegetables; kale; spinach; berries eg blueberry; alcohol in moderation - especially red wines with resveratrol (antioxidant) eg Malbec etc. (In fact, alcohol in moderation

Latest Consensus on Omega-3, Aspirin & Curcumin?
So in finishing up my deep dive into supplements, these were the three I had the most trouble making any definitive personal conclusions about so I wanted to do a review before putting them to bed to get any last input. My general feeling is without well-designed long-term studies (not retrospective

Medichecks Result and a warning about testing & HRT
Apologies for the long post (my first) and thank you if you manage to get to the end of it. Bit of history first (there's more in my bio), after 7 years of being bedbound with a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, I was finally prescribed combination T3/T4 in 2018. I hadn't had my bloods checked since 2019

Whether to push for a diagnosis
I also suffer from
acid

but again, I’ve coped with it by avoiding things which tend to cause it.

Continually Burping
My GP said he thought it was
acid
reflux
caused by anxiety. I have been suffering anxiety and depression and am on medication for both. He prescribed omaprazole in Dec but it's got worse and worse and some days I burp continuously for hours. I don't experience any burning sensation just gas.

Thoughts on digestion/acid reflux
In October 2020 I had a polyp removed from my throat (benign) which is believed to be caused by
acid
reflux
. My main worry is the future getting frequent
acid
reflux
and what that could lead to. Like everyone feels its enough to deal with Rheumatoid Arthritis let alone the extra add ons as well!!

DEXA scan....success
I asked for a DEXA scan a few months in to my PMR/GCA journey around 3.5 years ago. Thanks to the good advice on this forum I wanted to get a reading before I started with Alendronate. My gp felt it was unnecessary but I stood my ground. I was diagnosed with osteopaenia and so have been taking Alendronate

Change in hair texture/appearance while on Ibrance/Faslodex
I am on Ibrance/Faslodex since early June. Before that I had 1 1/2 cycles of Kiskali but had a severe adverse reaction and had to stop. My hair started thinning on Kiskali, it is now shedding big time and I have lost about 50% of my hair. and the texture and appearance of my remaining hair has changed
