Update on “20 years old and Scared”
Hey guys, roughly 11 months ago I posted in this group worried to death about my unspecified polycythemia diagnosis. You guys provided me with so much support during that time, even though I was a bit shy to respond to comments after a couple of days. Well, I was tested for the JAK2 gene which came back

Tips on reducing regular bouts of diarrhea.
Still waiting for a diagnosis. 8 days diarrhea, stopped 5 days later 4 days diarrhea. GP told me to wait until I see a consultant, which could be months away. Any tips to reduce this happening on such a regular basis. Living on dry toast and Imodium at the moment.

First Visit With My MPN Specialist!
Oh my goodness! There was no comparison to the level of care I’ve been receiving and what I experienced today. Thank you all so much for encouraging me to see a specialist. Special shout outs to Hunter and EP Guy! I went to UNC Chapel Hill Cancer Hospital. I saw Dr Brandi Reeves. She was amazing

PATHOLOGICAL CRYING
"Pathologic tearfulness (emotional incontinence) is a disorder of emotional expression rather than a primary disturbance of feelings." It's not you - it's your brain injury. I cry easy - too easy. I often lose credibility with the doctor when it happens to me. The imbalance of power in the exam room

Week 8 Run 2
Rain was bouncing of the ground this morning so this was the first time since starting c25k where I actually wondered... Do I even have shorts that still fit me? It's a bit of nuisance trying to keep track bottoms from ending up round your knees once they're soaked. There is one pair but hmmm... I

Osteoarthritis in most of Main Joints
A long while back I had spinal pain on a regular basis at the age of 13 years and being so long ago all that was ever said to a youngster was, its growing pains. Yea. Yea. of course it is. Years later after constant suffering from spinal pain, the rest of my body joined in with Osteoarthritis. I

Help! What to do after faecal disimpaction
Hello, I'm new to this chat. I have a 3 year old who is currently going through faecal disimpaction. We are on about day 3, seems to be going according to plan. My question is, once all the blocked up poo has been removed and he poo is watery/bitty, can I just encourage lots of fluids and give him prune

Hi, Does anyone have any long-term experience of using high-fiber Psyllium capsules for IBS constipation?
I have just started using them and they seem to help with bowel movements although I am unsure about bloating and abdominal pain!

Confused about seeds!
Can anyone please tell me if seeds are good or bad for under active thyroid? I’m so confused as I have been reading that they are really great for you and then the next article tells me that they are really bad for you? I have a cupboard full of chai, linseed, pumpkin, sunflower seeds etc! Help!

Long overdue 'anti alcohol report'
Morning, I hope you find this relevant. It's been seen as a watershed proclamation. The so called benefits of small amounts alcohol (especially wine) have been touted for centuries when it comes to cardiovascular health. Four days ago the World Heart Federation officially changed the message. Unequivocally

Enlarged liver
Hi I have been told I have a mildly enlarged liver and fatty liver. The ultrasound was private and wasn't the best at relaying information. I knew I had a fatty liver but the enlarged bit has got me really worried. I don't know what it means. I've googled it but had to stop because it was taking me down

Fell today as I didn't see the edge of a path.
Another fall curtisey of no peripheral vision so sporting a few cuts, bumps, bruises onto of the usual. Hit my chin, broke my nose, fractured hand, whiplash but great news though... I didn't fall off my push bike... 😉🙂 the above happened as I 'walked' within my crutch support. At least it was a beautiful

My Pet Rat, Ralph
My pet rat, Ralph, is suffering from a heart problem, and is dying. He is one year old. He has been such an amazing pet, and emotional support. I just found out today that a surgery would do little to correct the issue, and that we are going to need to make a VERY quick decision whether to humanely

Experience with giving oneself a shot? Exenatide shot leaking - medicine being lost - please help
I take 2 mg of Exenatide a week for my PD. (There are many other threads explaining why) About 1/2 the time the shot leaks some liquid on to my skin surrounding the shot site. I’m concerned that I’m therefore not getting a complete dose. Please, if you have experience with this, help me. My husband
