Afternoon you lovely lot. Hope everyone is keeping well. Been a while since I’ve posted about Mum, mainly as she has been doing so fantastic. Bit of a worry today though, she’s been having ‘wind type’ pain on and off for a week or 2, she had it quite bad in the night last night and she was also sick.
Anyway after many arguments and much stubbornness this morning, she’s agreed to contact The Christie, who want her in this afternoon to assess. Trying not to turn into panic stations.. but naturally I am worried. Pelvic MRI results last week were completely clear which is great, CT results of tummy still pending.
Bit worried about a blockage of some kind, as I know they want to rule this out. Obviously worried about recurrence too…. Anyone experienced digestive issues / wind types pains since their debulk / treatment?

I had something similar. It was a bowel blockage which luckily, cleared itself after a couple of weeks of no eating. Hopefully, your mum will be sorted out soon. Let us know what it turns out to be.
Thank you Zena. Glad to hear it cleared itself and I hope you’re doing well currently. She’s in tomorrow now… she’s worried as they have said they’ll give her Ct r results tomorrow. X
Hi, I couldn't go even though I was, and still am, taking 6 laxatives a day. I was projectile throwing up and pains. I have a badly damaged bowel and that's why I have to take the laxatives to make sure I do go. I don't think I could go for well over a week so as you can imagine it really built up and has to come out somewhere. (How disgusting). I was kept in hospital for a week until I could manage to go, without any food. If it hadn't cleared itself I would have had surgery. Apparently, it is really common with our previous surgery. There are a few things nobody warned me about. xxx
Oh my what a journey I hope you never have to go thru that again no I agree they don't tell you about bowel obstructions among other things I found after my last front line pretty much its over move forward not a lot of info I didn't even know that debulking can lead to having to have a hernia repair which I had. Thank God for this site its such great support and you are an inspiration. I think Women tend to have constipation especially after menopause Men have all the luxuries ha! I take laxatives every other day if I have to I figure better in than out. Hugs
I agree. It's not that I have a bad diet either. Even with all those laxatives I still don't go every day. I like to control it a bit. After all, I don't want to get caught short when I'm out shopping do I?😲🤣 xx
I could eat fruits and veggies until the cows come home ha! The urge always seems to hit you when you don't want it to like at the grocery store and someone's using the loo ha!
Is your Mom experiencing constipation? I finished front line in October 2021 for about the last few weeks I've been having left pain around my waist and constipation I've been using laxatives which helps i have my checkup with the Onc on Tuesday the Gyno/Onc that I saw a month ago wasn't overly concerned I also had a hernia repair in March could be the mesh settling down. Please let us know how your Mom's visit goes
Hi Saintgetmain, thank you for your reply! I hope your appointment goes well on Tuesday, and it’s reassuring that they were not concerned last month. Sending positive vibes to you!! XxShe isn’t constipated no, just having wind type nagging pains on and off (days apart at times) and then was sick in the night last night. Hoping it’s completely unrelated and nothing to worry about, but of course we’re naturally apprehensive.
She’s had 7 rounds of chemo, a debulk in the middle, and is now 10 months into targeted therapy too.. Xxx
Thank you for the well wishes! I’m not on a targeted therapy but I’ve heard they can have side effects. I am so hoping it’s unrelated you are a wonderful Daughter I’ve been told it gets better with time but for new Survivor’s you question every ache pain or symptom hugs from Chicago
