Confused and in pain

Hello all

I am new to this forum and have been having some issues since late September of 2018. It started when I was having pelvic pain and low back pain. I had been back and forth to my gynecologist and she kept telling me that I was having pains from ovarian cysts that Was seen on an ultrasound. I had a total of 3 ultrasounds of all which she described them to be ovarian cyst. I later started feeling slight aches in my lower left leg and became constipated. Still she told me o had ovarian cyst and wrote me a prescription for birth control. I didn’t take the birth control because my own personal reasons. However later I started noticing I had frequent urgency whenever I had to Urinate and my urine was cloudy and burned when I peed. At this point I knew I had some form of a UTI as I had one before Same symptoms (let me just also point out that I suggested that I had a UTI to my gynecologist who did multiple urine tests and told me I didn’t have a UTI I had cyst) I went to urgent care where the doctor there diagnosed me with a UTI. She wrote me a prescription for Macrobid and Flagyl for a vaginal bacteria I had as well. So I was pissed that my gynecologist did not catch something as simple as a UTI after the numerous amount of urine test they took. So after the 2nd day of the macrobid the doctor from the urgent care called me and told me she wanted to switch me to Bactrim because the bacteria in my urine was resistant to the macrobid. So with the Bactrim antibiotic I literally felt like I was on my death bed. I had horrible side effects from the Bactrim and the Flagyl (spine pain, back pain, leg pain, muscle pain, insomnia, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, numbness in both my legs and feet, numbness in my hands and arms, bedridden for a week, worse constipation) I ended up going to the hospital a total of 4xs while on these antibiotics. The second time they told me to discontinue the Flagyl because of the numbness of my hands, legs, and feet. (Each time I went to the doctor I was told my urine looked good. I also had a CT scan and ultrasound done at this point both came back normal). I also decided to visit another gynecologist office to get a pap done because I was due for one and I wanted to make sure that my cervix was good (test came back normal but they said they found hepatitis c in my blood which turned out to be a false positive 🙄🙄🙄). Fast forward to after the I finished the Bactrim. I was still constipated and I had pains in my spine and in my upper back area and left with leg and butt pains in my muscle. Also still had trouble sleeping and no appetite at all. I also experienced a sharp pain in my sternum while laying on my side. I ended up going back to urgent care where they TOOK A URINE SAMPLE, did an EKG, and did chest X-ray. All came back normal. So at this point I started to feel like it was all in my head and people around me made me feel like it was. I knew in my heart it wasn’t though. I was getting to the point of depression because no one knew what was wrong with me. So eventually I started to do the DR Google thing and according to Google I was already dead. So of course I panicked and freaked out. Pain continued to progress so I went to see my GP doctor who also did urine sample and blood work told me my both came back fine. I told her about my constipation and other issues and was referred to a gastroenterologist. From there I was scheduled for a colonoscopy. Also had blood work with them done and was told all was normal. So I started freaking myself out about these constant aches I was getting in my back and abdomen. I went back to my doctor and she ordered for me to get mri of my spine and ultrasound of my pelvic area because I had mentioned to her before that I had been previously diagnosed with bad cyst from my previous gynecologist. I didn’t get my mri done because I was told my insurance wouldn’t cover it 😒 but I did have my ultrasound. My doctor’s medical assistant called me back and told me I had edematous which is inflammation in my right Fallopian tube. So I immediately make an appointment to see another gynecologist who did a pelvic exam and looked at my cervix. She thought that everything looked normal and there were no signs of inflammation. But I’m like how can you tell that just by feeling on my pelvic. So at this point I don’t know who to believe. Few days later went to th ER because pains in my back turned to stabbing pains. Had another CT scan and The doctor diagnosed me with a Kidney Infection...😡. I was prescribed Levaquin for a week. I honestly see why some people get freaked out and start going google crazy. I have gotten so many different diagnoses that I don’t even know what to believe. I wasn’t even told how severe if at all the infection was or nothing. Also my spine started becoming worse went to the ER for that, had X-ray done, I have an inflamed spine..😕😕like what?!?!? I’m trying to stay calm and be positive but it’s hard when you don’t feel like yourself and you get different diagnoses from different doctors. You don’t know what to believe. I’m stressing about my colonoscopy and how or why I have inflammation in my spine and why do I have uncomfortable aches in my abdomen, legs, butt, and arms. I don’t wanna think the worst but my mind wonders sometimes. I am a healthy 28 year old female and I literally feel like I’m 70 year old woman .

Lovebug, I don't have a solution for you, just know that I am concerned about you, and care what happens to you. There is an entire show on about people who have various problems, but can't get a diagnosis, because 'tests' come back normal.

Thanks. I’m just so terrified that there maybe something serious going and no one knows what it is.

HI lovebug234. Sorry you are in so much pain. Please try not to Google, it will just make your anxiety worst. Where all of your diagnostics given to you from the same hospital aside from the urgent care ?

Yes. The same hospital every time besides urgent care. I’m worrying myself to death about something being seriously wrong with me. I’ve never had health issues like this before. I’ve had 2 CTs 2 X-ray and multiple blood test done and each time every thing came back normal asside from the kidney and UTI I got diagnosed with. But I’m so traumatized from them missing my UTI that I’m like I don’t know what’s true or false information.

Sounds like they have misdiagnosed you. My advise to you Is to go to a different hospital to run the same tests and let them know of the results your current hospital gave you. Maybe you can get the hospital to send you to a good specialist for each issue that you are having. Hang in there everything will work out, you are feeling crappy because you need to treat all those conditions, but I highly suggest you go to a different hospital for a second opinion since your current one keeps giving you the run around.

Great. I hope you feel better. Please keep us posted.

I can sympathise with you, I have constant pain in my left groin that takes over my life, I just keep getting fobbed off too, somedays I think it’s my ovary and others my bowel, I am71 so a lot older than yourself and live outside London. I trust they will sort it out for you. Oh also I have grade 1 bladder prolapse and grade 2 bowel prolapse.

Getting a second opinion at a different hospital is an excellent plan. Let us know how that works for you

I have turned off replies to this post as the next step is to hear what the second opinion reports.
