Macrobid

Last year was prescribed Macrobid, but ceftriaxone, clindamycin & monural are used in people with kidney disease & lower egfr. Just trying to avoid any further decline in function. I see urology next month. Hopefully they can offer a preventive solution.

I'm currently on yet another course of Macrobid - after finishing the last course a week ago and symptoms and leucocytes ++on dip yesterday. The Macrobid makes me feel unwell and sometimes I vomit after taking them. I've managed to get a face to face appointment with GP but not for 3 weeks.

Tested my urine and wasn’t confirmed if I even had a water infection as he used the word “might” and prescribed me paracetamol and macrobid…. paracetamol doesn’t even touch the SPOT😂 so i’ve been let down again… said he doesn’t even think i need a gyne appointment!!

Last year January, I was prescribed nitrofurantoin/macrobid for infection. It resolved but wondering if any harm to kidneys?Pretty miserable now with UTI. I'm stage 2 ckd. Thanks

before Christmas I was treated with a 3 day course of macrobid. UTI continued and was worse 2 days after finishing antibiotics. I’ve just had a 3 day course of trimethoprim and I still have UTI symptoms .MSU was borderline to bacteria and positive to blood. I repeat this on Friday.

The Doctor has sent away my sample and meanwhile has prescribed MacroBID Nitrofurantoin anti biotic tablets, 2 per day. Hopefully they will clear up the problem (s).

We went to our GP and the nurse prescribed MacroBID 100mg (Nitrofurantoin). He has been taking them twice a day just after meals. This is his third day and there seems to be very little improvement . He is still complaining of pain when passing urine.

For medication, she was prescribed Nitrofurantoin (Macrobid).

I was prescribed macrobid for a UTI. The first 4 days I felt fine..but by day 5 I had and have had a scruciating headache..blurred vision..and just don't feel right.

The only thing I can think of I took Macrobid 100mg twice daily for a week for UTI a month ago. I am soo concerned and anxious now and waiting to get an ultrasound in 4 days and more blood work. Have any of you had a spike of liver enzymes right after a month of normal blood test?

My Godmother who is a retired RN said that UTI symptoms do not come and go like mine are and thinks this may be interstitial cystitis and told me to hold of on taking the Macrobid. Thank you in advance! ♡irene

It got just a little bit better after the 7 days then it started right back even worse I suffered until dr got back he ordered Macrobid! B/p is up now189/74!im going to try to sleep some tonight up at 5 AM today maybe this one will do well without a heart attack or stroke.

Been given Macrobid for UTI. Taken four doses so far, out of fourtenn. Thought I was getting better yesterday, but today not so good, still general burning and frequency. Is this typical? Really felt optimistic yesterday, but now feel dismal, tired and uncomfortable.

Hi all, I recently had a 3 day course of Nitrofurantoin (macrobid) for a UTI. The gp also requested routine blood tests Which have today indicated Serum Vitamin B12 levels below the threshold- 169 ng/L Range:187 - 883 ng/L Does anyone know if macrobid can influence your B12 levels?

I wasn't having any particular problems until late December last year when I had a kidney infection for 3 weeks and went through MacroBID, Cefalexin and Co-Amociclav to get rid of it (Co-Amociclav did the trick in the end, thank goodness).

The UTI clears up readily with Macrobid, or UriFos. But the lingering dull ache continues intermittently. I don't have any classic prostate and urinary or sexual issues and a recent PSA test shows a reading of 1.2 - for what thats worth.

I have just been prescribed this for suspected uti and have taken first capsule. Rather upsetting to read so many negative and downright scary comments about this antibiotic. PLEASE, has anyone got anything good to say about this? I am always nervous about taking any medication but my problem has

I was given a 3 day supply of Nitrofurantoin 100mg (MacroBID) and it did get rid of some symptoms. However it made my back pain unbearable and I was still peeing blood, so I called my GP and got switched to Cefalexin 500g for 7 days. I finish that course of antibiotics tomorrow.

Anyone been prescribed Macrobid for a UTI?

I was on amoxicillian but it gave me the runs so they switched me to macrobid and I have only taken 2 so far. The doc office also said I am pooping out the infection which i never thought of. But you can hear my stomach making sounds and I feel like I’m bloated.
