Antibiotics

Consultant has put me on co-amoxiclav, reading the leaflet there is some scary sounding side effects, any one had this?

I started the antibiotics Friday and am now really worrying that these have impacted the progynova which are to prevent ovulation. I thought they wouldn't impact the cycle and started taking them but now I can't stop worrying whether I've messed this cycle up. Would anyone know please?

I wasn't told by the GP to stop taking any of my medication while on a week of antibiotics. I take, amongst other medication, 5mg Prednisolone daily plus Methotrexate weekly and Leflunomide daily.

I have both Amoxicillin and Doxycycline here in the house...Should I wait until tomorrow and try again to get a nurse to listen or start on antibiotics...if so which one? I'm scared that if I leave it...it might develop into something really nasty over the weekend

Good morning, I have been prescribed Amoxicillin for a chest infection which I have to take 3 times a day. My question is, how long between my T4 and T3 should I leave? I take my T3 in the morning and mid afternoon, T4 in the morning, Tia

I had been prescribed three courses of antibiotics, Nitrofurantoin and Cefalexin for a UTI and finished the course the day before my blood test. Could this elevation in ALT be due to the antibiotics?

Does anyone with similar problems have really bad reactions to the Antibiotics given for UTI. I have been given Trimethorprim and have never felt so sick and tummy feels like it’s burning. I am very intolerant of all Antibiotics I have tried. Just wondering if anyone else has similar problems.

Does anyone have this problem with the never ending circle of antibiotics? BTW am unable to produce a sputum sample despite being on carbocysteine.

The problem is that due to antibiotics (almost one or two every month) and maybe Venetoclax i started suffering from hepatotoxicity. My hematologist told me that the values are not hight but despite that it makes me think.

Ever since I’ve been taking antibiotics my on times went from 5 hours to 3 to 4hrs and my rigidity and fatigue is terrible to the point where I wonder if I can make it to the end of the supermarket aisle and without falling over as well.

I saw my GP as the nurses from Arthur Rank Hospice were busy so was told that I don’t need to take antibiotics but I was given anyway if the condition gets worse. I wonder when people with Lymphoedema in one’s arm take antibiotics each time there are pink spots on their arm.

This has led to my consultant putting me on a course of Profylaxis antibiotics (Azithromycin) to see if it prevents further infection. Do you you feel probiotics are ok to take along side to help with the stomach issue side effects (constipation, bloating etc). Thanks

Hello all, just a question about the antibiotic Nitrofurantoin an antibiotic I’ve been given for UTI after having had two previous different antibiotics in last two weeks. I should like to know if this medication is safe to take with Essential Thrombocythemia and taking Hydroxycarbamide.

Found this recent article where it states that new'ish research says taking a probiotic after antibiotics is pretty much pointless but as we all know there is so much conflicting stuff out there.

Should I stay on double dose while on these antibiotics for another week?
