Hi,

Please could someone comment on my blood test results. I am not seeing any improvement and have been more depressed and tearful since starting NDT.

I am due to speak to a practice nurse at the Thyroid Clinic tomorrow. Apologies there is a lot to take in! Thank you in advance.

you could edit that list and take out the duplicates

Your Ft4 is very low, which is common for many on NDT

You might need to add some levothyroxine alongside

Or try 1/4 grain increase in NDT

Do you split your dose

What vitamin supplements are you taking

Vitamin D on low side

Thank you for your prompt reply Slow Dragon. I have in fact run out of the Solgar multivitamin. I am on nutrvita vitamin B complex and Better for you vitamin D 4000 IU. I take magnesium and calcium too. Interesting about adding in some Levo. I still have a prescription for it. Could the NDT be causing depression?

Also I do split my NDT taking it at approximately 3am and 3pm

Hello Blu-cat :

These results seem to be somewhat duplicated and confusing -

Guessing these are new upsetting symptoms - has anything positive happened at all and any symptoms of hypothyroidism been relieved ?

So am I right in thinking these results are after switching to NDT ?

A Free T3 at 5.20 and a T4 at 13.60 ?

if so what dose are you taking , are you splitting this dose, how long have you been on this dose and what was the time lapse from last dose to the fasting blood draw ?

What medication did you switch from and do you have bench mark readings of Free T3 and Free T4 so we can compare them to these new results ?

Hi Pennyannie,

I had been on Levothyroxine (25mg) for about 6 years after being diagnosed by a rheumatologist with fibromyalgia with no improvement . In October of last year I started Liothyronine but felt hypo. My private Endocrinologist switched me to NDT in December. I don’t have any blood test results prior to these. I did follow the guidelines of and took my last dose from memory about 12 hours before blood draw. I do split my dose of NDT 1 grain about 3 am and 1 grain 3pm. My symptoms-fatigue, brain fog, muscle pain, anxiety and low mood have not improved and I fact I feel more depressed and tearful.

Hey there :

I'm just reading your reply to me from 4 months ago - unfortunately you didn't actually reply to me - the correct way - so I never got a message that I had a reply !!

You need to reply using the other forum members Reply button within their post -

alternatively type @ directly before their name so the name colour changes to blue -

Ok - so I'm a bit too late now as you have switched to T3 only :

I would have suggested trying just 1 dose Armour and build that up from the 1 grain in 1/4 grain increases weekly until you felt a bit edgey and uncomfortable in your skin - which is when you drop back down that last 1/4 grain increase and stay on that lower dose for 8 weeks and then run a blood test.

It's possibly T3 only will work better for you and probably cheaper and read we need to find around 50 mcg T3 daily - just to function.

Not what you're looking for?
