Natural desiccated thyroid (NDT)

hi all, Im switching from ndt to t3 as already take levo. Usually I take 60mg per day of ndt plus 100mcg Levo. My Levo without ndt was 150mcg. Can anyone give me some advice on how to transition from 60mg ndt to t3? The t3 tabs are 25mcg so I’ll need to cut them down

I have been well controlled on ndt for 10 years Ordered new thyroid s in August- and since then have gained nearly a stone! I feel awful- so tried, exhausted brain fog, heels so cracked, deeper voice. has anyone bought NDT from Thailand which doesn’t work? Thanks

The NHS diagnosed this for me some years ago, and since then I have been treated privately with ndt. I'd assumed the ndt was 'topping up' my low thyroid hormones, but now understand that the ndt acts as a 'replacement'. What are the implications for my thyroid?

My question is does this mean i will be getting less t3 as i understand NDT has a higher amount of t3? Also the transition from Levothyroxine to NDT was fairly smooth is this the case the other way around i assume it would be but not sure .

So it was suggested I try adding T3 to my ndt and I started 10mcg in the morning last week and finally my hair has stopped shedding. So I reduced my afternoon ndt by half. My dose now is 2 grains ndt am with 10mcg T3 pm 1 grain.

Interestingly I gave him my bloods pre NDT and last test but I only gave the T4 and T3, he didn’t ask for the TSH 😆 was I lucky and got someone a bit switched on? Anyone else here switched to Levo and Lio from NDT? I’d be interested in your advice/experiences please. Thank you.

Does anyone know why more T3/NDT could actually help with sleep?

Has anyone successfully managed on Levo only after years of taking NDT? I have been on various combinations of Levo, NDT and am currently on 100mg Levo + 1 grain Thyroid-S for around 10 years. I tried 2 months of Levo only in the past but I started to put on weight and my TSH remained suppressed.

Over the next week went down to 50mcg Levo and up to 3/4 grain NDT and then 25mcg Levo and 1 grain NDT. A week later (late Dec) I dropped Levo entirely, but stayed on 1 grain.

grain 1 and said I can go back to the Tirosint if I don't like the NDT.

put a panicked late ndt order into thai supplier who suggests 14-21 day delivery. here in 5! my uk passport renewal? est 8-10 days now expected to be 6+ weeks (they lost my expired passport then found it after i cancelled it).

I’ll take any reliable Ndt suppliers too, but can’t tolerate thyroid-s. Can only find T4 docs around me and since being off Ndt during the pandemic I have been greatly struggling. Thanks!

Current NDT supplier (private Endo, telehealth) is charging me £300+ for ~6 weeks. Can anyone recommend a cheaper option (if so by private message please)? Not sure I'm ready to self source, only been on it 3-4 months and probably still adjusting.
