Thyroglobulin

I recently took a blood test, suggested by a acupuncturist, and it has come back as being positive for high levels of Thyroglobulin antibodies.

Do thyroglobulin antibodies have any affect on conversion or utilisation of t4/ t3 or do they just affect the thyroid gland?

why would THYROGLOBULIN ANTIBODIES keep going up on levothyroxine Recent tests ( medichecks ) show 1090 up from 840 6 months ago is this just because my levothyroxine is too high ?

hello - my THYROGLOBULIN ANTIBODIES have been high now for the last three years. My thyroid hormones are within the normal range. I am becoming more bothered by my lack of energy and my sensitivity to cold is unbearable.

I also have anti thyroglobulin antibodies of 398. My AMA is 1:640 and was discovered during a blood test for possible Lupus?

The thyroid results are normal (TSH 2.87 [ref. 0.38-5,33]; fT4 9.4 [ref. 7.9-14.4]) I have TPO and Thyroglobulin antibodies I don’t know my Thyroidglobin but TPO in 70s so indicated hashimoto. He did treat for Hashimoto Encephalopathy last April with a short course of steroids but no joy.

My Thyroglobulin Antibodies were at >4,000 - now within range ( r 0-115) at 29. Peroxidase Antibodies were 131 (r 0-34), now 50.5. So still elevated. TSH is now 1.00 r 0.27 - 4.2. I was told that I started off at 58 but I haven’t seen that evidenced. Still 75mcgs levo and feel mostly ok.

I would like to know why my thyroglobulin antibodies are sky high and obviously I need to deal with the osteoporosis having stopped the alendronic acid. Any tips on how to make the most of this appointment.

I had a reduction in my thyroglobulin antibodies and no change in my TPO antibodies. I will start taking 200 mcg of selenium and see if that helps. I will re-test in six months. Should I continue to go gluten-free, or should I eat minimal gluten? Are there any other changes I could make?

I am slightly concerned that although I asked for a full blood test, the GP didn't test for Folate Serum, Free T3, Thyroglobulin Antibodies, or Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies. Should the missing tests be requested by me as a matter of routine?

My most recent blood test shows normal thyroglobulin but raised thyroglobulin antibodies at 40. My latest is TSH 0.7 and T4 in normal range. What I want to know is if the thyroglobulin abs are raised is a sign of cancer recurrence even if the thyroglobulin is normal?

Does anyone know what causes thyroglobulin antibodies to increase after a thyroidectomy? Mine have been fluctuating since my TT 5 years ago. They have just increased from 743 ku/l to 930 ku/l.
