Hi all,I had a comprehensive list of blood test and a thyroid scan just 2 weeks ago when travelling abroad. Treatment has not been given there but I had a private appointment and waiting to start NDT soon once I have the report from the doctor ( private one).

Don't know what to expect and read various post in regards with this and just need some guidance how to start ex splitting doses and time wise.

Currently taking Vit D 4000u

B1 500 mg(thiamine HCI)

B6 50mg as P5P

Folate 400 as metafolin.

Chiken liver every week plus beef meat as well and cooking at least 4 times a week in iron cast pan. Lots of healthy food as well but no difference to my foot pain/burning.

Taking B1 and B6 as previously on blood test were raised.

Gluten free ( celiac disease confirmed by biopsy) and 90% diary free( still drink 1 cup of lactose free a day).Being lactose intolerant for over 10 years now.

I have not longer digestive problems as before gluten free. No constipation or diarrhea anymore or stomach pain.

I am not longer tired or at least not as before . My muscles and bones don't hurt anymore but my feet are still in agony and I am always cold. Still have trouble sleeping but prescribed Imovane 7.5 that I take half of the pill and I can sleep.

I had a assessment for my thyroid as I said and waiting to start treatment. I want to be prepared to understand the steps and learn from other people experiences.

Can you share your experience with NDT?

I have been told will start with 1/4 grain. Should have my report back by next week to have my prescription. Thank you in advance and sorry for long post.

Ps I was hoping by starting Vit B1 and B6 to decrease my burning feet syndrome to a level I had before but unfortunately is not the case. I am a bit anxious about starting any medication as I am so difficult with pills.

Even the ones I am currently taking had to use empty capsules to split the dosage until I was able to cope with full dose.xx

Mackanzie what steps are being taken to treat your vit d deficiency? It is important to have good vitamin levels so the body can use the thyroid hormones efficiently.Yes the starting dose is a quarter grain. You increase and reduce doses of NDT in quarter grains.

How it will suit you is trial and error with regards to dosing and timing. Best thing to do is read up on people's experiences on this forum and post questions for advice.

Hi,I take vit D 4000 u since December. Originally been after 12.7 I believe now is higher. I have read few post but none of them state de dose they started. I am aware about optimal vitamins and mineral I do my best to improve. Thanks

Ps. I am unsure when you increase the dose every week or every two weeks or is how you feel better. Is a trial I know.

People split doses differently so is confusing what is the best to do and with food or without.
