Blood Test Results

Hi all 👋

My Endocrinologist team has started an initiative of putting our care Records online so we can view test results. I was seen last January but not seen again till July because of lockdown. I’ve done several Medichecks blood tests and my Endo has seen these. At the July appointment, he took some tests and I have only just seen these on the portal but I have no clue what they mean. I know the coeliac one.

Can someone explain these please? 😀

Anti Intrinsic Factor Antibody

<6U/ml

Anti Gastric Parietal Cell Ab

-ve Titre

Anti Thyroid Peroxidase ab

Range <34 iu/ml

Reading: 37 (note says: high)

Free T4

Range 12-22

Reading: 20.6 pmol/L

TSH

Range 0.27-4.20

Reading: 1.04 mU/L

Coeliac Test

IgA anti trans glutamine seems Ab

Range 0-7

Reading: 0.5 U/ml (note says: normal)

Vit D

82 nmo/L (I take a Better You Spray 3000iu daily)

The photo attached also shows results dated 2016 on the record.

I’m on Teva Levothyroxine 125mcg daily alternating each day with 150mcgs. I also take a range of supplements including magnesium, zinc and probiotic as well as a B-Complex.

Thanks in advance. I’ve not heard a dicky bird since my appointment in July and I rang up twice to get the results. Had to email them and was eventually told in December that this portal was set up and to create an account.

😀

Do you always get your blood test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Remember to stop taking any supplements that contain biotin (eg vitamin B complex) a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results

No Ft3 result

Suggest you look at getting TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested

cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

@SlowDragon thanks for the reply. The Endo clinics are after 2pm sadly so no control over that. When I test with Medichecks, I follow all the advice given on the forum. He suggested doing the ones I listed in an effort ‘to help’. I was surprised FT3 wasn’t in the list. Point noted about the biotin & B Complex.

SlowDragon so the test for Sjögrens - what does that reading mean? And second Test Reading listed? Do you know?

I eventually got hold of a secretary at the Clinic. Both tests are normal and he was testing for pernicious anaemia. I’m apparently due a review and am on ‘the list’.

Not what you're looking for?
