Blood results . Advice please

Hi.

I did a Medichecks thyroid test earlier this year which showed raised Thyroglobulin Antibodies and a TSH >2.5. I am trying to conceive so I consulted an endocrinologist and was prescribed levothyroxine. I started on 25micrograms and increased after after one month as TSH was still >2.5. I tested again after a further 5 weeks. Tests were done as per advice on this forum.

I currently take 50micrograms of levothyroxine. I also take 1000iu of Vitamin D3, Omega 3 and Folic acid. I was taking a high strength multivitamin but stopped this mid August.

My latest NHS blood tests taken on 28th August:

TSH 1.71 mu/L (0.55-4.48)

Serum free T4 total 16.1 pmol/L (9-22.7)

My latest medichecks home test on 10th September showed:

Inflammation

CRP HS 0.23 mg/L (Range: < 5)

Iron Status

Ferritin 92.90 ug/L (Range: 13 - 150)

Vitamins

Vitamin B12 - Active 94.300 pmol/L (Range: > 37.5)

Vitamin D 89.60 nmol/L

Deficient <30

Insufficient 30 - 50

Consider reducing dose >175

(Range: 50 - 175)

Thyroid Hormones

TSH 2.98 mIU/L (Range: 0.27 - 4.2)

Free T3 4.99 pmol/L (Range: 3.1 - 6.8)

Free Thyroxine 18.200 pmol/L (Range: 12 - 22)

Autoimmunity

Thyroglobulin Antibodies X 414.000 kIU/L (Range: < 115)

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 11.40 kIU/L (Range: < 34)

I am wondering whether to increase my dose of levothyroxine to 75mg or whether it would be worth trying to increased my B12 or Vitamin D first?

Any advice greatly appreciated x

If you scrawl down to the bottom of the page to a selection marked topics then there is one named pregnancy. I’m sure that will give you pointers.

I had my children before I became hypothyroid so I’ve no experience but this topic was discussed not too long ago so probably detailed on there. I just remember seeing that the level of TSH was very important but best to look it up, I would just be guessing.

Thanks for the tip.

I did have some symptoms of hypothyrodism which have improved since taking levothyroxine so I am keen to optimise my health in general. I was wondering if anyone can comment on the vitamin levels?
