Help with results and dosage.

So after a long journey not managing the brands of t3 I am waiting for my nhs script to come in for Thybon 20 Henning. I’ve thought that battle. :)

I’ve been taking 175mcg Levo Teva for 2 months now as it’s taking ages to get the script. I’ve my current bloods taken and I’d appreciate what dose people would recommend I take of the t3 and if to keep my 175mcg of Levo.

Now I’ve only managed up to 5mcg of t3 as it’s like rocket fuel to me, it made me spaced out, but high and also sick on and off, assumed it’s the fillers, hence waiting for another brand.

So at the minute I’m 37, having Anxiety attacks at night, night sweats and not feeling myself.

I requested a cortisol, short synachen test, it was started at 10am.

536 nmo/l

30 mins after 789

60mins after 826

Serum folate 9.1 (3.4-15.8)

Ferritin 59 (22-322)

B12 663 (221-912)

Iron 11 (9-30)

Transferrin 2.60 (2.0-3.2)

TIBC 65 (45-81)

TSH 1.36 (0.38-5.50)

T3 4.9 (3.5-6.5)

T4 16.2 (10.0-18.7)

I know my iron is low it was 8, 2 months ago.

Any help, guidance would be appreciated as I’m fed up of all the hormones, feel menopausal at 37. I’ve seen a gp but not much help.

I take lots of vits, iron, selenium, b12, b complex, magnesium, zinc, vit d/k2, quercetin and recently Q10.

I’ve a new complex containing black cohosh, red clover, sage, Angus castus. Is this safe with Levo etc? It’s for menopausal and pms symptoms. For my night sweats.

Cheekycharlie1981, I'm sorry you haven't had my replies. The question might have got a bit complex, I've noticed that more simple questions get more replies.

Those thyroid panel results are a bit undermedicated overall. Your TSH is a bit raised, which means your body is asking for more hormone.

Your freeT4 is only about two thirds up the range, and most people will feel better with it close to the top. The freeT3 is around the halfway point. This will be the number you hope to raise with the new T3, and most people like it high in range.

Ideally you want to start with a dose of 5mcg of T3, and you could reduce your T4 by 20mcg to match. But some people struggle to introduce T3 and sounds like you are one of them. In that case you can start super slow and work up to the 5mcg, you can grind or slice up the tablets and start with the smallest amount you can reliably get. Then once you've found a dose you feel comfortable with, attempt to raise after a few weeks, always dropping back if you need to, till to get to 5mcg.

As your freeT4 is already fairly low, you can reduce by a smaller amount at first if you like.

Difficulty with T3 is often due to vitamin deficiencies and adrenal fatigue.

Thank you for helping me, yes I posted twice and no advice. My adrenal results are apparently normal, but not sure what ranges are with the test I had.

I’m struggling a lot, think I’m getting menopause symptoms and I’m 37 so not what I imagined with my 17 month daughter needing all my energy.

I tired liothyronine and it made me on edge and not sleep, sickness etc, felt so off. So I’m hoping that was the fillers.

I think maybe 150 one day 175mcg Levo the next then taking a tiny amount of t3 and build up to 5mcg. I struggled with 5 last time so hoping 2.5mcg and alternate dose of Levo will be the right balance?

My iron is awful so won’t help my body in anyway.

Many thanks. :)
