Positive anti-bodies point to Hashimotos - auto immune thyroiditis. It appears your thyroid is struggling as the TSH in a healthy person is around 2. Ferritin is low - better around mid-range. As you have heart issues I would suggest a Full Iron Profile as low iron can be one cause of palpitations.

What meds and supplements do you take ?

Active B12 over range - do you supplement ?

Folate better mid range.

VitD needs a nudge upwards.

What has your GP suggested if he has seen these Private Tests ?

Thanks for this analysis.

It was suggested in this report that my thyroglobulin antibodies are very slightly positive and that this is associated with hashimoto's disease.

Is there any medication specific to that disease that could counteract its effects?

Am taking 2000iu vitamin D3 and K2 tablets per day.

Magnesium, together with B6 one per day. Would this tablet be better without the B6?

What supplement do you recommend for folate?

Have stopped taken B12 supplement.

Ill check out the a full iron profile.

Haven't consulted the doctor on this one. Will do so.

If you were to take a good B complex it would contain Folate/Folic Acid - so you could take the Magnesium alone and keep all the B's in balance.

Hashimotos - auto-immune Thyroid - the anti-bodies attack the thyroid until you become Hypo. Did you have your blood test early in the morning and fasting - ? - it is when the TSH is highest. If you look at the Thyroid UK website under the heading - UNDERSTANDING BLOOD TESTS - it does say that a TSH over 2.5 that Hypothyroidism should be considered.

Selenium is mentioned often to reduce anti-bodies as is a completely gluten free diet . This would improve absorption of the vitals too - it is important to heal the gut. I do believe that if you were supplementing B12 at the time of the test then results can be skewed ... so keep an eye.

Ferritin needs supplementing as the thyroid hormones workd better with Ferritin around 70/75. Do not expect your GP to be aware of this !
