Insufficient 140 - 250

Consider reducing dose >725

Serum Folate 29.50 8.83 - 60.8 nmo/L

It is obvious that the auto-immune disease is destroying my thyroid gland.

I am taking Thiroyd tablets 2 and 1/2 grains since 01/07/2017 twice a day.

(I have gradually increased the dose)

Should I reduce the dose as TSH seems very low? Since I have started NDT I feel much better, still have some symptoms as bloating.

Sometimes funny with a headache and dizziness. Do you think this could be because of the NDT does?

Also, I have been taking Ferrous Fumarate 305 mg since a year. Should I stop it?

Is my b12 ok?

My hair is in awful condition as never before very dry and thin.

My Vit d level is fine. It was checked sometimes ago through NHS and I am supplementing it.

This is the comments from the laboratory I did the blood test ;

The thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level is low. If you are already taking thyroxine, dose adjustment may be necessary - you should discuss this with your usual doctor. If you are not taking thyroxine, it would be wise to keep an eye on this level - either by reference to previous results if known or by checking TSH again in 6 months’ time or so. There is a possibility that hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland) will develop if the TSH fails to rise (a low TSH implies excessive thyroxine production from the thyroid gland). The positive thyroid antibody result, however, increases the possibility of your having or ultimately developing autoimmune thyroid disease, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Grave's disease

You TSH level is Is a bit low, but your Free T3 is in the upper part of the range where it should be, so if the dose feels right then consider leaving it. Otherwise reduce by a 1/4 per dose and see how that goes. Have you considered adopting a gluten free diet yet? It can reduce antibodies and can make our dose more effective (you mention bloating...). Attached is a reply by SeasideSusie where she discusses nutrient levels and supplements - a must read by all IMO.

And I think everyone with Thyroid should consider adding selenium to their daily supplements.

When you are on any medication with T3 then the results are read differently. Your TSH should be suppressed, your FT 4 an fall to halfway and your FT3 should be high in the range. If you feel good then leave it. If not there is a little room to increase your dose.

serum b12 is not a gold standard test - one reason why the lab has broken the range down. At 317 though the chances are that you are okay. The real way to know is to look at symptoms but given the overlap with thyroid and by the sound of it your thyroid isn't under control at the moment, that is going to be really difficult.

Suggest you focus on thyroid and if sorting that out doesn't resolve the problem then start to look at B12. If you want to do further testing then MMA can help to clarify - its a waste product that builds up if there isn't enough B12 available at the cell level - but it can also be raised by other things.

Lots of support available on PAS forum on B12 deficiency, diagnosis and treatment but, again, suggest concentrating on the thyroid right now.

B12 isn't toxic but supplementing with very high dose B12 in the absence of an absorption problem can cause problems.

I have ordered to check on Iron Status Profile from medicheck today, so I will further investigate this domain.

Thank you for your comment .
