Thyroid can cause A-fib

There are many studies showing how thyroid abnormalities can cause a-fib. Low TSH can indicate hyperthyroidism and if thyroid nodules are "hot" they are secreting more hormone that acts on the heart causing arrhythmia.

Thyroid Results dating 1988 onwards. Comments welcome.

Fell ill 1987 and was diagnosed chronic fatique/m.e. Currently I believe I have central hypothyroidism and hashimoto's running concurrently. Had auto immune attack on thyroid at end of June 2021. Have thyroid Perioxidase antibodies showing 13.3.20 and 24.2.22. Thyroid readings for central hypo suggest

Thyroid eye disease

Hello everyone, I’ve been told that I may have thyroid eye disease and certainly it seems that I have all the symptoms of it. I’m really confused though as the GP did loads of blood tests that came back fine for thyroid function. I have an appt with a thyroid eye specialist at the end of July and in

Thyroid antibodies

In the past I have been diagnosed with Graves’ disease. I wanted to see how I was doing as have been feeling tired. I did a medichecks panel and the image below shows the results. If my antibodies are now in range, what does this mean? Do I still have an AI condition? Or was I wrongly diagnosed

Levothyroxine Medication Query

Hi, can I ask fellow underactive thyroid members when they take their levothyroxine medication. Have you been advised what time of day to take it? Thank you.

Help with Thyroid test results

Hello. I'm new here and hoping to get some advice after receiving my Thyroid test results back from Genova. Is anyone able to advise if these are in the normal range, or do I need something else other than T4, levothyroxine 50 a day. Any help much appreciated. Thank you.

The UK National Screening Committee (NSC)

The UK National Screening Committee (NSC) have recently reviewed whether thyroid screening is needed (March 2022) and came to the conclusion that screening is not currently recommended for this condition. The reasons for this were: •there is no agreement on what a 'normal' level of thyroid hormone

HRT/Perimenopause and Thyroxine advice

I had my thyroid removed about three years ago due to Graves Disease and have been just about managing my thyroxine dose since then. I’m in my early 40 s and have noticed that I’m experiencing what I would say are Perimenopause symptoms (although could probably be thyroid related too!!) Poor sleep, change

Blood test query

Hi I recently had a private blood test done as it was easier than going through my GP. I spoke to my GP about the results and he said he wasn't worried about them though further investigation was required. I have had underactive thyroid for 20 years on 75mcg levothyroxine daily. Fed up with weight gain
