Hyperreflexia
I would love to hear others' experience with hyperreflexia as result of PA. I have periods (often in the last days before my injection), when I get low-level random muscle twitches, mostly in my arms and back, then they subside. I have been found to be hyperreflexive in reflex tests since my PA diagnosis

Two doses of enoxaparin inj a day for APS stroke survivors?
I ve had a couple of dibilatating strokes but w alot of PT(physio) i am very close to 98%. My question is i am on enoxaparin 2.2 mg/kg every twelve hours is this average for most. I know some without strokes take only take 40mg a day as a preventative. What are other”APS stroke” patients taking. Curious

Black spots upon waking
Hi.. I have this problem also. It started around 6 months ago. Woke up one morning to see 2 black dots upon the white wall which disappeared when blinking. I contacted my gp and have had 2 eye tests including dilated pupil and both say eye health is good. I am now suffering with sleep and hallucinations

Zolmitriptan and pregnancy
Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with taking zolmitriptan for migraines while pregnant. Stopped: B. Longum BB536 (Morinaga) probiotic for gut related health issues (IBS) -> switched to b. infantis 35624 (Alflorex)
I'll no longer take Alflorex and will try another probiotic, Bacillus Coagulans. I also don't take bacillus coagulans anymore. These probiotics weren't beneficial for my health symptoms. **************************** Just started, the 11th of August, with a single strain probiotic, bifidobacterium longum

Spider Angioma?
Hi there - What might this be? I've had this kind of mark on my abdomen for many years (since I used to live in West Africa) but recently it looks to be getting more pronounced or "longer" across my abdomen (horizontal). After I shower or work out, it seems like the vein-aspect goes away and its just

Hypericum perforatum (St John's Wort) for IBS related symptoms?
Because I want to switch to another probiotic instead of Alflorex and of course want to know it's effect on my health I decided to stop taking St John's Wort. ********************************** Hi, just curious if you have ever tried St John's Wort for IBS related symptoms. I just started to take it

Euthanasia and Echinacea
Garshe shared the story of the above and I now have to tell the tale of Princess Diana's funeral when a friend of mine's family gathered together to watch the ceremony live on TV with all the pomp and ceremonial grandeur. This is a large Essex family who often holiday together, aunts and uncles, nieces

"Significant injury" meaning?
Husband is now at the end of his second week in the rehab ward. He has managed to relearn to sit , and can now be taken in a wheelchair off the ward and outside to see our adult children, for about twenty minutes, and he's been in the standing frame with slightly lessening support - he can hold his left

Brain fog/ oxygen debt/ D lactate
Hi all, I've been looking to find a solution for brain fog. Before I took levothyroxine my energy levels were not good. I believe the reason for my lack of energy was down to the fact that I was an ex smoker of a twenty a day habit. My GP did not diagnose me with anything which I could associate with

Sigmoidoscopy
Anyone had a sigmoidoscopy? I believe it's not as bad as a colonoscopy. I'm having it this Saturday but am so scared. I've requested to be sedated but reading people's views on sedation for colonoscopy procedure it seems it's such a light sedation that it does nothing. I want to cancel but I've been

Why me?
Hiya everyone. So I’ve just watched Ambulance: Code Red on channel 5 and quite a lot of accidents that resulted in brain injury were featured on it.. it made me realise what the ambulance did for me on the night of my haemorrhage, and could relate to the brain injured people… only these people were involved

Asymptomatic fix in brain
Is there anything like asymptomatic fix in brain? As my brother in coma for 4 years, the personal doctor said as per blood result he is having asymptomatic fix in brains that could not be seen. I'm worried that it might worsen his nerves and brain damage.

Rushing ahead with adaptations
Hi I just joined tonight as I'm feeling a bit desperate! My husband sustained a brain injury on 20th July- not quite a fortnight ago. He was knocked from his bike and subsequently had a brain clot which couldn't be dispersed. He has profound weakness down the left side and is in rehab since Friday 23rd

Lansoprazole side effects causing IBS or diarrhoea?
Have a healing duodenal ulcer diagnosed a few weeks back. Need to take Lansoprazole to aid the healing (twice a day) for 6-8 weeks. Noticed in last few days diarrhoea (or my usual IBS symptoms getting worse)? Have been on Lansoprazole a few months ago but only one pill a day and seemed OK

Ultrasound of liver....sit upright for last part of scan
As the title says in for my yearly US of liver. Usually i go for the scan and lay on my back and both sides while scan is done. This time, at the end, i was asked to sit upright off the side of the bed while my sonographer scanned the liver area, while i sat there. Does anyone know the reason for scanning

Life after Tbi
On August 14th of last year I was involved in a bad car accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. I was wondering if anyone could tell me things that they are still dealing with because of the brain injury and what things they did to adjust to it. I was also wondering does it get better overtime

Wet macular degeneration, does it dry up for long?
I’m heading to my second Eylea injections shortly and was wondering how long the Eylea can dry it up for? I think my vision is improved a little so I’m wondering if there is a chance I won’t need further injections after the loading dose. Is it feasible to hope for this as an outcome?
