Car accident

I was in a car crash yesterday and now I’m beginning to feel my legs are aching more today.

Has anyone else been in a trauma and had their fibromyalgia symptoms worsen?

Any traumatic and stressful experiences will trigger a Fibro flare. I tend to get quite stressed sometimes and my Fibro symptoms definitely react to it. Hope your feeling better soon.

So sorry to hear about your accident. Hope there were no injuries. With regards the pain you are now feeling then yes I find if something is stressful I can almost feel each area starting to hurt more. Hopefully you get the time to relax and are feeling better very soon. Be kind to yourself xx

Hi there, sorry to hear about the crash. I'm presuming you were check over by a doctor or maybe had x rays if needed. You could also be suffering from some kind of whiplash due to the crash.

If it gets any worse I would definitely ring your GP or go to A&E. I hope its nothing serious and it settles down soon xx

You are bound to be somewhat stiff and achey after any crash. Mostly, it's normal, although a severe crash can trigger a flare.

Cheers, Midori

Sorry to hear that, have you tried soaking in an Epsom salts bath, it will help your muscles, hope you feel better soon

Sending gentle hugs. I've been in 2 rear - ender car crashes, and unfortunately both times have resulted in my fibromyalgia symptoms going into a major flare up.

A word of note.... The worst point for whiplash type injury is often 2-3 days later. Xxx

Oh Yes.. Even if you are UN Injured, the impact causes stress on the body , even at low speeds, and stress in general can trigger flares. Rest, a Warm Bath or Compresses and give it a bit of time. Hope you feel better soon.

So sorry to hear about your accident. I hope you have a good team of healers and doctors to help with your recovery. One of my best friends with fibro also got triggered by a car accident. Have you tried 500-1000 mg of vitamin C every day and an anti-inflammatory diet? Also, infrared sauna or an infrared device might be really helpful. There is a facebook group for car accident survivors called 'recovering from your car accident' that might have some helpful info for you. Take good care. One day at a time xx
