Hi everyone. I've started coughing up tonsil stones again today. I used to get them years ago and they eventually went somehow. Either that or I've still had them and just not noticed. However I always feel like I've got bad breath only a few hours after brushing my teeth. I'm now thinking this is probably due to the tonsil stones. Has this happened to anyone else where they've gone and then come back? Has anyone got advice on what to do to help prevent them? I always feel like I have to clear my throat too. Would anyone recommend going to the doctors if this keeps carrying on? Thank you in advance.

Tonsil Stones
Yes most definitely you need to go back to your doctors about this. Your too anxious and need their advice .. I hope you get better soon.
Hi treetops31, I hope that you are much improved since writing your post. I must confess, it took me some time to understand what Tonsil Stones were and that is what attracted me to your post. Well, you went on to say something which helped me to clear up the matter.
Yes, I get 'Tonsil Stones' and often when I have eaten lots of carbohydrates and much too fast. I can feel the lumps inside my 'craw' and I use a flashlight to look into my tonsil area through a mirror. If I see that there is a white ball then I use a cotton bud to dig it out and yes, I clear my throat a lot and gargle with warm saltwater. Not sure why but this helps me. I get even better results if I can remove the stone with a cotton bud. If you have a high gag reflex, this might be difficult for you, however, I was the same and over time I have come to realize that I do not gag as much anymore.
I hope my home remedy helps you. It certainly will get rid of your 'bad breath' pretty quickly.
Good luck.
Tonsil stones are from food, post nasaldrip collecting in the tonsil folds which turns into bacteria and makes the tonsil stones.
Try salt water gargle and maybe see a doctor to rule out possible tonsil infection.
