Rheumy appt and blood results
Hi everybody, I've posted a few times but quick recap - finally got an appt with a rheumy after only 25 years of ill health, although the letter says they will review my referral and cancel the appt if they don't think it is needed, which is a little concerning - I've waited a long time for this! Radiation as a first-line treatment
I was diagnosed with Gleason 3+4 PCa in 2007. The two options that were recommended to me were robotic assisted radical prostatectomy or radiation. The surgeon that I consulted did not leave me with a feeling of confidence, and I also consulted with a radiation oncologist who recommended IMRT. I went

Blood Test Results - Comments Please
Having had my blood tests through the NHS the request for FT3 was not done! Therefore I have had it done privately now. I am considering asking my GP for some T3 as I do not think the Levo is quite working as well as I would like. If any of you more experienced under active thyroid sufferers know of

New tests results
So you may remember I posted test results from 2014 the other day, saying I was due new blood tests. Well I've now got the results back and finally got some results!! It's a long list so any comments on any of it is much appreciated... I've summarised at the end for those short on time/energy! TSH 6.2

Recent DCIS Diagnosis
Was diagnosed with stage 0 high grade on my left side. Had a lumpectomy 6 weeks ago with clean margins. Radiation has been recommended to prevent a recurrence. I am very concerned about radiation to my heart as I am in my 60s and have a family history of heart disease. I heard about a newer form of radiation

Comments Please on my latest Blood Test Results
I have had the results for my blood test. Unfortunately the blood draw had to be taken at 4.30pm and I had taken my medication (50mcg of Levothyroxine) first thing in the morning then eaten breakfast and dinner. The receptionist advised me that the results are normal except the Cholesterol level which

How diet changed my life
In the form of
Whey

, pure lactose as a flavouring for crisps, in all sorts of things, anything nice basically. I was feeling better but still only 80%. I noticed that Soya alternatives were not much better than milk so they had to go. Again feeling better but not 100%.

ANA POSITIVE
My ANA was positive. C-Reactive Protein and Sed rate are high. Hemoglobin is low. I've felt like I have the flu for 3 weeks straight now with no relief. I don't see a Rheumatologist until January and my Doctor is not wanting to give any meds. I'm so miserable I cannot function during the day. The exhaustion

Update Doctors
Hi all, have just been to my doctors and picked up my blood test results, that my new doctors wanted to do before going any further (originally the new doctor said she would arrange for me to have a MRI scan, but think this has been knocked on the head by her supervisor). At that point I had to make

Glucose: The silent killer
Normal aging predisposes most of us to metabolic complications as a result of impaired glucose metabolism. If we fail to recognize this fact, we are doomed to suffer a plethora of degenerative conditions that were largely preventable. In reviewing thousands of blood test results and published scientific

Ever wondered why they think you are depressed?
This is a rather interesting article just published by Dr Mercola it explains the relationship between high inflammatory states in the human body and its intimate link with depression. The observations made closely match what I have seen in clinical practice over the last 35 years it also matches and
