Husband's blood results - hashimoto's apparently stable
These are my husband's most recent results: he has been diagnosed for a year. The GP says he's stable, but if this is as good as it gets, we are in trouble I think... 22nd December Serum free T3 - 3.7 (4.00 - 6.80) Serum ferritin - 51 (30.00 - 400.00) Serum TSH - 6.76 (0.27 - 4.2) Serum free T4 - 19.5

Bloods sent away to test for Lupus. Been put on Pregabalin. Worried about Sjorgens. Any advice?
Hi everyone, Its been a while since I posted- my last post was that I had been sent for generic blood tests, which came back with vitamin D deficiency and I had slightly raised liver enzymes. A liver profile test was then done which showed everything as normal. However, I have had terrible pain in my

Worsening fatty liver?
Hello, I am now here and I wonder if anyone can share their wisdom. 2 years ago I went to my GP with upper right pain under my ribs and he sent me for an ultrasound in that general area. All was fine except it was noted I had a 'mild fatty liver'. On looking at my history and what alcohol I consume

"Inflammation. [4] How to Change the Numbers"

Inflammation. [3] SedRate, Fibrinogen, IL-6, TNFalpha.
There are a number of markers of inflammation & the perfect test to assess one's inflammation status might involve markers not previously mentioned in: "Inflammation. [1] Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio [NLR]" & "Inflammation. [2] Albumin & C-Reactive Protein [CRP]" However, the NLR & Albumin are usually

Inflammation. [2] Albumin & C-Reactive Protein [CRP]
This follows on from my recent post: "Inflammation. [1] Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio [NLR]" Albumin & CRP could justify separate posts, but the Glasgow Prognostic Score formula combines them. [1] Albumin. Albumin is a protein that transports all sorts of things in the blood. For

New Here and Think I'm Hypo, Have Long List of Bloods - Would Be Grateful for Thoughts
Hi, I've been lurking for a few days on here trying to get information as I have hypothyroid symptoms. I've found the site incredibly helpful already in trying to understand what is going on with me - now 52 and been to Docs over last 18months for various complaints which started with low libido. Thought

Test Results Waiting time?
Hi Everyone, I'm just wondering how long I should expect to wait to get back results for blood tests and a chest X-ray? I know that some tests take longer than others so I've listed below which ones I've had recently. - Anti-nuclear Factor - Anti-CCP Antibody Level - DNA binding auto-antibodies - Extractable

"Not diabetic at this stage"
I recently got myself referred to an endocrinologist by having some blue horizon tests which showed that, while my tsh etc is technically in range, my antibodies are out of control. The endo was a total let down, and I've finally got a copy of the letter she sent to my GP discharging me. She says I look

Liver Enzymes going up rapidly
Anyone had experience with ALT, AST and C Reactive Protein rising rapidly? My ALT, AST and CRP have all jumped by 2.5 times in one week to: ALT 179, AST 123 and CRP 9.1. Most other liver #'s numbers are still in normal range (ALK 65, Bilrubin 0.4, BUN 12, Protein 7.4). Thanks.

Urgent Help Please! Blood results pre-Endo visit!
Hi All! I am post RAI by maybe 5 years now, so NO Thyroid active right now. I have a lump now growing under my chin up for investigation - GP wanted a scan, but nothing will be done without visiting the Consultant Endo first. Had my bloods done, and the results are here - but I noticed that they are

Newly diagnosed (liposarcoma) and starting treatment (doxorubicin) on Monday
Hi Everyone I came to the Centre last week for the Living Well course. It was great. We are very fortunate. The histology has now confirmed that I have a retro-peritoneal lipo-sarcoma which is not operable and I am due to start on doxorubicin on Monday. Things are moving fast and I think thats best
