My Swedish supper
This is probably the tastiest beige plate I have eaten since I went low carb. Swedish meatballs in a rich sauce; sautĂ©ed cabbage and leeks;celeriac home fries; redcurrant & blackcurrant sauce. đ (plating my food for photography increases my pleasure, so I have to share the photos with someone. sorry

Fasting and visceral fat (or at least waist size)
I started fasting via Michael Mosley's Fast800. So low calorie (I was between 800-1000 kcal/day), low carb, IF. In the first month I lost 7.4kg, and 10cm off my waist. https://healthunlocked.com/fasting-and-furious/posts/142414943/1st-month-fasting-lchf Then I joined HU, took advice from various people

LCHF Mythbusting
As some of you might know, I'm the HU "Ambassador" for the LCHF group. It's a bit of a thankless task because the internet is still awash with misinformation about LCHF. Prompted partly by a few recent conversations, I figured it'd be worth doing an occasional series of MythBuster posts. I'll do two

LCHF v Keo
Yes-@MBAnderson, thatâs great on both of you. Dr Terry Wahlâs had remarkable /miraculous improvement on essentially the same w/more extreme measures> keto . I think dairy and gluten free is attainable and if so, will be the best for me (& maybe most of us w Neuro disease). Although Mischley does not

High protein low carb. Any posts on interesting menus? Health tips?
Got to eat something a bit more interesting than omelettes and meat đ One week is enough of that so health tips would be good too please. I really love vegetables but I genuinely eat for england if I make a healthy veg soup.

Low Carb vs. Keto
The less I eat the better I feel. At my âNavy weightâ of 120# (when I joined, and even retired), Iâm unusually stable despite changing up various dietary protocols. Of course, I sample and cheat a lot but feel best when off of most dairy & gluten (& partly by association, low carb). Keto âresearchâ

Genius! Celeriac lasagne!
I've cooked celeriac for the first time today (and thank you for asking, it's only a little cut and it's nearly stopped bleeding!) so I googled recipes and found this. https://www.greatbritishchefs.com/recipes/oxtail-lasagne-recipe I love recipes that are naturally low carb. This might need some tweaking

My weight loss/gain history
Today?1 I am in a position to do 'weigh in' days at last! This will be a long post, sorry. I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks, been busy, busy, busy with my veggie garden and falling into bed at night. Some of you may remember me, great difficulty losing weight, tried everything and it's

LCHF and "athletic" performance
Strava, the running/cycling app, has this concept called segments: they are arbitrary stretches of road marked out by users. Every time you ride through a segment, Strava records your time. If it's in the top 3 fastest times you've ever done it, you get a trophy đ. That means the second time ever you

New to this
In January I was sent for blood tests by a gynaecologist and he happened to check my thyroid as he was doing a full check. I was told by the GP that the results showed i had a âmassivelyâ underactive thyroid and she went through the symptoms with me- most of which Iâd been suffering with but Iâd put

Ramadan Update 1
So, having embarked on what most people would consider a radical fasting/exercise/LCHF programme, how is it panning out? âšâšWell, pretty good so far. Iâm now one week into the experiment and have stuck to the outline concept rigidly, the main part, of course, being the fasting. So how has that gone, have
