Newbie Hypothyroid - all tips and advice welcome please.
I have never done a
weight
loss
diet
til now and I have just read that low carb diet might make my thyroid symptoms worse. I have a blood test just now and the GP said might need more meds. If I continue like this I will need to give up my business and find another way to earn money.

A new randomised study comparing diets
A new randomised study compares a low carbohydrate diet to the DASH diet. The conclusion: the low carb diet wins hands down. https://www.annfammed.org/content/21/3/256

Thinking of our conversation on pred level and how to handle stressful moments to keep adrenal drama at bay....
So things for me and PMR and pred have not gone the way a lot of folks have. I read about when you take the pred in the beginning most have amazing relief then begin the journey of slowly reducing to find the next good dose. Then reading the symptom tea leaves of symptoms to make decisions on the next

Newbie - Is this Normal? Should I have Treatment?
I have been on HRT since then and have had all classic menopause symptoms for years -
weight
gain (despite good
diet
and exercise),
loss
of libido, brain fog etc. The HRT has helped somewhat, but I've had a nagging feeling that something else has been going on for a while.

Gluten free diet
Hi just wondering if anyone has tried a gluten free diet to reduce inflammation? I’m off steroids now so would like at least a change from low carbs . Just interested in other opinions

Hashimotos and new onset kidney disease. Any links?
Hi, I have Hashimotos for over 10 years and PA for 4 managed by self injecting. In the last month due to quite sudden onset of fatigue, dizziness, and jitteriness with like an internal tremor (which was a key symptom before Low B12 was diagnosed) Saw Dr and got results yesterday and diagnosed as Stage

A weighty issue saga
That said, I tend to think that chemo drugs inhibit any intentional
weight
loss
. Has anyone had any success with any particular
diet
or success requesting a change of drugs. I probably sound a little foolish worrying about my weight at 72, but I hope I have some friends here in the same boat.

Blood results
Hello, I know I have asked for advice before but wanted to clarify please. My recent bloods have been re-tested ;- I have Hashimoto's and on 100 of Levothyroxine. TSH - 4.6 (0.27-4.2) FT4-25.6 (12-22) T3- 3.0 (3.1-6.8) The Doctor says these are abnormal and not borderline as they were before Christmas

Steroids
My friend is on 65mg of pred. steroids. I read that he needs a low salt and low fat diet. Also he needs to eat foods with potassium and he should take Vitamin D. Should he speak to his GP even though the steroids are being managed by his neurologist? Or should he buy over the counter Vitamin D etc?

Gluten-free diet for picky eaters?
I have celiac disease and my 5 year old was recently diagnosed with it. He also has autism so he's very picky about textures in food and has a limited amount of things that he will eat before his diagnosis. His favorite right now is avocado toast, but he won't eat any gluten-free bread I've found (and

I don't seem to have much in the way of symptoms. I took motion classes but they said you're fine, come back when you have a problem. I took acupuncture sessions til they said come back when you have a problem. MY problem is the neurologist wants to take my license. I failed a driving test that didn't

Keto diet warning
"The ketogenic
diet
, long used for
weight
loss
and epilepsy treatment, is now being studied for its potential in slowing the growth of tumours. A recent study in mice revealed that the keto diet slowed tumour growth but also accelerated cachexia, a severe wasting disease."

Red light therapy
Hi , I’ve read up a lot about red light therapy & have held back but now considering buying one. Just interested to know if any of you have bought one, how you have got on with it, re results, plus if so any recommendations. I know I have seen posts in the past where people have mentioned they use one
