Hello, welcome back Richard260, lovely to see you. The plate looks delicious There's a lot to be said about cutting down carbs, especially the highly processed ones. I personally was convinced after reading Dr. Jason Fung's 'Obesity Code'. It seems that we don't need carbs that much, we can get what's required from proteins and dietary fat. Also, low carb is not 'no carb', so we will get some of carbs anyway
I try to cut them down, although I am not following 'low carb' as such.
If you look around in our Daily Diaries, you will see what people are eating. healthunlocked.com/weight-l... some of our people are definitely following low carb approach.
Hello Alexandra4, lovely to see you and thank you for sharing information. Are you still on a weight loss journey yourself or have you reached your goals and are maintaining now? Would be nice to hear from you
Hi Richard260. I have found that reducing carbs works best for me, I eat far less of them nowadays although I haven't gone low carb. That meal in your photo looks delicious and beautifully presented. Best wishes.
That meal looks super delicious, have you a recipe?
Congratulations on losing so much in your first week - keep on track and when you’re feeling a bit discouraged (we all do at various points) remember how good you felt about your weight loss today.
wow Richard that’s a great loss! I’ve just started to do the same for nearly 2 weeks and not lost anything! I also did the courgette lasagne and it was so nice I’m doing again this week. I will persevere as your results are so good.
Welcome back Chunky6, thanks for your support. Just incase you can't remember your way around, this is the link to the pinned posts, where you will be able to see everything that's available. I suggest that you read our Daily Diary, there's lots of different meal plans to try out.
Quite a few of our members follow a low carb plan. Vegetables an be amazingly versatile and take the place of pasta for example. If you have a look at "topics" you'll find several recipes using veggies as the base. Cauliflower mash is just 1 example, with a little imagination nothing is impossible.
No, I've not eaten bread for 3-4 years and keep my carb intake low (no processed carbs) as a club cyclist I've never found it a problem to do a long ride without carbs. I regularly cover 50+ miles on a Sunday morning on little more than a cup of coffee. If it ends up being a longer ride I may have a baked potato at a cafe but at least I know that most of those carbs will probably be swallowed up in repleneshing glycogen stores.
If you're still on a weight loss journey yourself and as a reminder, all of the information you need about the forum can be found in Pinned Posts healthunlocked.com/weight-l...
