Late night thoughts
Well with the kidneys, if you use diuretics to get rid of excess
water
retention
, you flush out a lot of your potassium and magnesium inadvertantly in the process. So it makes me wonder if our serotonin gets flushed out by an overactive liver the same way the kidneys flush out too much potassium.

Biological injections
Hi, Iam new to this site. Iam on a biological drug called 'simponi' (golimumab). I have psoriatic arthritis. This is my second biological drug that I have been on, so far they have both not been able to help me. I have been on simponi for 12 weeks. I only get relief when I take 2 high strength paracetamol

What Should I Expect
I have an appointment scheduled on Tuesday with a psychiatrist because my meds are not working. I've been working with my GP but think I need to see a specialist. I'm anxious about the appointment and laying awake imagining all kinds of scenarios. I have complex intertwined issues and I'm really dreading

Bigjess question and hopes
Inflammation causes some
water
retention
and as I showed earlier, when you rid the excess
water
, glucose levels drop. But also it is said that toxin build up can cause organs to not function properly and tobacco is full of toxins.

Medication?
Hi, I have a 14 year old son who we were told was OCD in September. He has had tics for a couple of years, mainly simple motor tics, head and eye fluttering. He has had a couple of brief episodes of snorting and sniffing too so most likely has Tourette's. He is learning to manage the OCD with the help

Advice on getting diagnosis
Hi, I'm new on here, I have a foster daughter (just in process of becoming her legal guardian), and new information has become available about her mum drinking in early pregnancy, which we were assured hadn't happened, but now it appears that she did binge drink. I am kicking myself for not seeing it

Fed Up, What Next Step Can I Take?
Hi, I am 19 I am really confused as to what my condition is. I took various online tests which say that I am dyslexic or have some indications of dyslexia. However, as time went one discussing my struggle with a friend, she felt I showed more signs of ADHD (Attention Hyperactivity Disorder). All these

Too much salt? Not enough water?
A friend commented that I may be consuming too much salt which can lead to
water
retention
, or not drinking enough
water
. I think my salt levels are okay as I cook most of my meals and don't add extra salt, but I'm sure I don't drink enough water.

Medication Switch
Hi, My doctor wants to switch my medication to Lamictal which is the Generic Name. The Brand Name is Lamotrigine. I'm hearing from other people that they feel better with this drug. I don't like trying different medications, but the ones that i'm taking now are not working. The biggest side effect

Have you found that ADHD medication worsens anxiety?
I have an appointment with my general doctor next week to discuss starting a medication for ADHD. However, I'm concerned about the possibility of it making my anxiety symptoms worse. The one my therapist recommended I ask for is Vyvanse. Is anybody on medication for ADHD, and if so, which one, and what
