Experience with LFT's going up and down??
Hi Everyone, I was diagnosed in April with PBC. My LFT's and GGT were through the roof--I am talking an Alkaline Phosphatase of 1400. I began taking URSO, and after 2 months, my ALP had gone down to 366 and my AST and ALT were in the high 40's--down from 200 or so. All was well, but just had my blood

NEW PBC DRUG??
My Gastro Dr. told me today, that there is a new PBC drdug that will be on the market within 2 years. She says it is supposed to be better than Urso, by slowing down the progression & also reversing liver damage. When I asked the name she said it has not been given an official name yet, on the chemical

I have been on this for two months now and I am not sure that I like how my body is reacting. I have swelled up and I feel like a space cadet. Is this notmal and does it ever go away?

Cold sensation running through body
This may sound strange, just wondered if anyone is or has experienced this. At least a couple of times I experience this cold sensation running through my body, almost as if my blood is running cold. It's mostly in my legs but other parts have been affected. I have both an underactive thyroid for which

Recently, someone posted on here, that they were @ the PBC conference in Las Vegas. They heard the last doctor that spoke, state that Urso does what its going to do, in the first 5 years of taking it. Does anyone know how long Urso works? My hepatologist which is also the liver transplant director,

Yeast infections
Just wondering if anyone suffers from recurring yeast infections. I have had them at least once a month for probably the last few years. I was diagnosed with pbc bsck in June and currently on 2000 mg of urso per day. I also read that women prone to yeast infections have a higher risk of getting pbc

Found help.
It contains freeze dried
uva
ursi
and marshmallow. Otherwise, lots of water, no alcohol and limited sugar was the only way to not have pain. I've been pain free for years with an occasional flare up once a year. Hope this helps someone.

Getting worried
Received letter from consultant today saying recent endoscopy showed dilated veins in gullet. Have already started on betablockers. Is now arranging for an updated ultrasound as he was surprised with findings based on previous blood results and scans. Does this mean that the although urso seems to improve

Diarrhoea
I have had diarrhoea for the last couple of weeks which I believe is due to Urso, I take the Urofalk capsules , supposed to take four 250mg per day. Cut down to three to see if that helps, I have now decided to stop Urso completely for two weeks to be sure it really is the Urso. Has anyone else had

Diagnosed yesterday with PBC
I went for a health check at doctors as my blood pressure was a little high. Following blood tests which showed extremely high ALP and GGT I was referred to a gastroenterologist. At present I have no symtoms apart from sometimes a slight ache on RUQ. I had an ultrasound and MRCP which showed nothing

Finally, some good news!!
Got my first set of blood work back after being on Urso for 3 months and my levels are coming down! My ALP went from 500 to 300, and my ALT and AST are now in normal ranges. My bilirubin has remained the same (it was good before) and my Albumin is just slightly less, which could be explained by a statistical

PBC/AIH or not?
Hi, I'm new here. I was diagnosed with PBC a couple of months ago and have been on urso since, it does seem to be helping with the fatigue so far. After seeing a consultant he said I should have a biopsy which I have now had and am awaiting the results. I asked him why I needed a biopsy and he said he
