Urso side effects?
Hi all I hope someone can give me some ideas on this as I'm feeling very down at the moment. I was diagnosed with PBC in Oct last year and put straight on Urso. This has started to stabilise my LFTs so to that extent it's working. I was warned that it may cause diarrhoea at first whilst my body adjusted

Follow up appointments
I was diagnosed with pbc in January and am due a follow up appointment at the end of August. Does anyone know what I should be expect/ what's best practice? I started on urso at the end of January, but my gastro didn't arrange any follow up blood tests. I just took the medication leaflet to my GP who

Pbc
Jen11804 3 minutes ago I'm new here. I was diagnosed with pbc in the past few weeks. I've had itching of my arm for month and unusually tired. I've always been active and now it seems I don't have the energy or drive to bother. I'm currently taking 2000 mg of urso daily and I feel ok. I mean no real

Urso unavailable??
I have been on Urso 18 months. Recently told by 2 pharmacies that Urso is on back order & will be at least a month before it is available. I find that very strange. Worse yet, is the fact that I called my gastro Dr. & asked if she could prescribe something else. She told me that there IS nothing else

Biopsy yes or no?
Hi I keep reading on here lots of comments that here in the uk they tend not to do biopsys for diagnosis. Not true. It all depends where you are. I have high AMA's & ana's and they are still insisting that I have one for diagnosis. Even though I've been on urso since March. I've refused two thus far

Urso?
Each time I get fill to a new prescription the chemist give me a different brand or the generic version. Rather annoys me. Any way my question is the current lot I have just picked up have for titanium dioxide in,(none of the other brand listed it) It has been classified as a carcinogenic, even used

I was diagnosed with PBC about 10 years ago but I do not have any of the symptoms. I do not think I have PBC.
I was prescribed Urso which I still take - god knows why. At my annual medical my live function bloods show normal. Yesterday I visited the consultant at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead and I said I do not think I have PBC and he called another doctor to come and do some scans. Apparently there

Have any of you figured out how to keep the nauseous/bloating feeling away that Urso creates? Do certain foods make you feel worse?

Depression, not overwhelming, the looming thoughts. Is this making my fatigue worse?
Hello everyone. For the newbies, I was diagnosed with PBC in March, got my stage in May, Stage 2. I have been on Urso now for a month now and have been paying more attention to the posts about those that the meds didn't work for. I am a person of faith, and I definitely rely on God for my dailing

Liver Function Tests Questions
I have been on Urso 18 months. For the first time, my results have lots of things elevated, OTHER than ALP. The Alkaline Phosphates have always fluctuated up & down, but now the following things were also elevated: Protein, AST, Bilirubin, White blood cells, Platelets , all due to PBC (according to

My PBC story...
Hi everyone… I am new and thought I would introduce myself. I have been reading the posts on this website for a few weeks. I find that it is very helpful to learn about others that have PBC, what their symptoms are and how they are coping. It is reassuring to know that I am not alone. I thought I

Ignorance is bliss
Has anyone else read the article in the Sunday Mail this weekend about how Urso....... Is extracted from brown bears in China under very cruel and inhumane conditions. I wish I hadn't seen it because now I feel I should stop taking these pills. I'd like to know what everyone else thinks?

Hair loss when on Acitretan
I've had pustular plantar psoriasis for nearly a year now and its affected my mobility and general quality of life badly. Having PUVA on my feet & Acitretan at 50mcg daily, I've noticed thinning hair - on body, eyelashes , eyebrows, and scalp - to the extent there was nothing needing trimming when I

Hair loss
Hello all! My hair started thinning about a year ago but much worse the first of the year. I started on minioxidil topical and antigen lowering shampoos. My hair started growing and doing well I started on urso a few weeks ago and the hair is coming out again. Does this ever stop or does it go in

Does anyone have exercise intolerance?
I had never in my life heard of exercise intolerance. When I walked one time around my block, the next day I was so fatigued that I couldn't get out of bed. After this happened three different times I contacted my doctor and was told that it was exercise intolerance and to just listen to my body. The
