DNA Repair/ Cockayne Syndrome and Niagen.
I knew that nicotinamide riboside was headed for a human clinical trial in Cockayne Syndrome, but I never found any underlying animal model research that explained why researchers were interested in this line of study . . . until today. Just found it. What's interesting is that it links to a plethora

What is exploding head syndrome?
Have just been surprised by an item on the Guardian newspaper website. Although probably off-topic, the number of weird-and-wonderful symptoms reported is huge. I can't honestly remember either of these being mentioned - but I could easily have missed them. And how awful if there were a thyroid connection

Itchy throat
Taking Synthroid first thing in the morning seems to make my throat itchy, or I just feel a sensitivity there. Only on day three of beginning. Before that I tried taking generic synthroid for one day, but that made me feel real bad. (body doesn't like generics) But the brand Synthroid works better for

Cause of liver enzymes continuing to rise? ALT and AST
Just an update- when we went for his 3rd chemo last week the blood tests beforehand showed his liver enzymes had risen again- to just under 200. PSA is down to 68. We had gone off all supplements after 2nd chemo due to enzymes being high. Because we went off all supplements (except D3, Omega 3, and

Could use some hope!
G’morning fellow friends. My son is experiencing some very concerning mental health behaviors. Anxiety, anger, paranoid thinking, lack of appetite, eating. This is not new, just escalating and a wife now. And she is just not “having” it, which is so welcome. We have tried for many years to get him to

Blood clots and blood in urine (no radiation)
My husband had a TURP 8/4/17 (in history below) but has not had any other surgery. Had second round of taxotere last week...next one in two weeks. He's had mild blood in urine since two days after first chemo. A few small clots. Onc says to keep an eye on it. He's away for business this week and just

Best Types of Therapy?
So, lately things haven’t been great - after ending up in hospital last week and getting put on new meds, I know I really need to find someone to talk to. My teacher at college has been amazing, but I don’t feel like I can just keep dumping my stuff on her - she’s busy and it’s not fair. I was wondering

Liver Enzymes up
My profile info is below... In our visit for chemo yesterday his bloodwork came back with elevated ALT/AST/BUN-Creatinine ratio- you can see numbers below. I Don't Know What's Wrong
Hi, I'm new here. I'm kind of at a loss here, so I figured I'd find help or advice here. I've always struggled with making friends and being social. I've felt isolated and lonely a lot and I've had trouble connecting with people. I suck at socialising. I probably have some form of social anxiety, but

When does a midwife start using a doppler scan?
Hi Ladies Im 23weeks pregnant and I just wanted to ask if it's a normal procedure for a midwife not to use the doppler scan to listen to the baby's heart beat and to only start from 28weeks.? I was concerned as I've had feeling of what I'd describe as contractions and told her about this she didn't
