"Emotional flashbacks" to things I don't remember
There have been a lot of posts about flashbacks, but I think I may be having flashbacks to things I have no conscious memory of. It isn't quite a panic attack, but I struggle to speak and suddenly burst into tears. It's usually triggered by being handled in a way that hurts, or getting stuck in an uncomfortable

Anyone having this problem?
I'm taking Lisinopril 20 mg mixed with Hydrochlorothiazide 12 mg, once a day. Also taking 150 mg Pradaxa twice a day and Metoprolol Succinate 50 mg once a day. My leg muscles, on both legs, from knee to thigh feel weak and sore. I was taking Eliquis but stopped that because I thought that may be what

Pred Before Surgery
I am due to have replacement hip surgery soon and one of the instructions pre op is not to have anything to drink that contains milk 6 hours before my admittance time of 7.30am. I am having a spinal block, not general anaesthetic. I normally have my pred about 7am with a yoghurt so what is your advice

Is anyone familiar with concussions?
Hello all, My friend received a bad blow to the head that was unrelated to biking, and it's not good for either of us because it's stressful and limits our lives in some ways. Two weeks later, he is still experiencing dizziness, mood swings, and general fuzziness. Help. liamnoah

Pred and Actemra
Thank you to those of you who answered my questions last week about restarting Prednisone because all my symptoms had returned whilst on Actemra injections alone. I had the 3- monthly bloods taken at the medical centre last Tuesday so that my rheumatologist would see what was going on after 10 weeks

Hemorrhoids problems
Hello everyone, I wonder if anyone here would have some experience with this and would be willing to share how they deal with it. I've had IBS since my teenage years, and I'm now nearly 50. I've had diarrhoea (who on earth invented that word and decided to spell it like that??) every week of my life

Baricitinib and highCholesterol levels
Hi All. Have just had some bloods done and they're showing an increase in LDL lipids and HDL lipids so overall total is 6.7. Interestingly, my level has increased since being on Baricitinib since 2019 and I suspect I’m going to have to go onto statins to counteract the effects of the drug! Nothing in

Music like exercise has a role in medicine.
I can't play an instrument and I cannot sing nor do I understand musicology ! But in social settings I used selections of music that induce specific moods and behaviors during social gatherings. Certain types of music will provoke specific "feelings" and for us CLL patients music may induce a momentary

Pulmonary vein isolation
Hello. Has anyone here gone through radio frequency ablation for pulmonary veins isolation? I know they have to pierce the atrial wall to get to the veins and I am curious if it's painful? I have gone through two ablations which were much simpler, never left the right atrium and I was mildly sedated

It seems The Pernicious Anaemua Society are doing a survey. Great I was keen to help. Only if you've got a diagnosis it seems I read on. I rang the helpline for the first tine in over 3 years of being a member to clarify this. I had an answerphone and was called back a few hours later. I explained

My blood tests always haemolyse which is making diagnosis difficult
My London NHS haematologist strongly suspects APS with haemolytic anaemia, after DVT in both legs and pulmonary embolism August 2020. I am currently on apixaban 5 mg twice daily. However, despite numerous blood tests over the last eighteen months the lab reports that a full blood count cannot be done

For fear of seeming ignorant,,,,,how many specialists are necessary when you have or have had DT's, Pulmonary Embolisms, and possibly heart failure. I have had PE 5 different times now. Is it important to have a hematologist if you don't need to have IRN levels checked? What role would they play? And

Lupron vs. Coco- who will prevail?
Lupron it promises, to take away my desire, yet Coco continues, to light, up my fire. . To measure my pleasures, one must know the measures. To which that you go, to fulfill all my pleasures. . My body lacks T, no question of that, Now you start most encounters, my libido’s gone flat. .

Leg cramps
Hi it’s been awhile since I’ve been on here. I’ve been taking Hydrea for ET for a year now. My platelets are staying in the 500’s. Over the last couple of months my legs are hurting super bad. Aching all the time. I’m getting a lot of Charlie horses at night. I am standing at my job and on my feet for

Pain post-hysterectomy
Hello, I'm 13 weeks post-hysterectomy and endo excision, which I opted for as all else failed. I had endo and adenomyosis- long story! I seemed to be doing really well, and now today I was awake very early due to pain and crazy bloating. I can barely sit up or walk, it's horrible. I did try some stretches

Scaly skin in new tissue growth after leg ulcer
I have scaly skin problems in new tissue growth following a leg ulcer. I also get a pins and needles sensation when standing up. I lost a lot of weight and I don't think the ulcers will come back now but I'm left with the poor skin. What is the best daily care I can give them?

Just picked up so called 'medical notes'. I'm done.
I wouldn't know where to start with this. I can only say that I have NO chance of medical help- now or in the future. I think it best to move over to the PTSD site. Waiting for MMH results today - for all the good that will do...
