New research suggests cancer patients with non-O blood types face an increased blood clot risk
An interesting side-bar is that people with type O tend to have lower von Willebrand Factor levels.
"Individuals with blood type O have VWF concentrations that are about 25% lower than persons who have other blood types. It has been found that more VWD patients have type O blood than any other blood type, and it is possible that some of those patients do not have a genetic abnormality."

Yes - blood types do matter.
Quick look at that article, I think it suggests if a type O has this condition, it is more likely than with AB to be acquired.
In a recent post discussed a relation to covid severity, type O is potentially better in this context than type A for example.
But Hunter's note here shows type O may have other trade offs.
This is timely vs recent thread on blood types. It does suggest we should have this info.
