constipation in perimenopause
I always have suffered with constipation. It is much worse since perimenopause. Just started HRT for bones and it’s worse still. Taken laxido for 2/3 days x3 doses a day and it has given much relief. Anyone been in a similar position and how long did you keep taking laxido for and at what dose? Many

Iron test - unsure how to interpret results
I was advised to get a full iron test done after a test for thyroid levels was within range. I'm trying to determine the cause of severe fatigue and muscle pain, twitches, digestion issues, headaches, pins & needles. Does this measurement for transferrin saturation indicate anything I should investigate

Low TSH stopping me getting HRT
I am 45 yrs old, & believe I am in perimenopause. I had hormonal blood tests done 6 mths ago, which didn’t show this, but was told that didn’t mean I wasn’t peri as hormones go up & down throughout the day….I decided at that time my symptoms weren’t bad enough to try HRT. I spoke to a doc today as

Hi, I’m new here and have a question. I’m now 58 and had my last period when I was 49. I have been suffering hot flushes ever since. My hair is very thin on top which I’m not sure if connected. I’m also taking steroids for another unrelated condition (PMR) I have never taken HRT due to it linked to

Latest GP diagnosis is... I’m getting old! I'm 55! Help with next steps please… 😠
Hi everyone. So had my GP follow up since my previous posts. My ferritin is 26, which the GP informs me is the highest it’s been since they tested in 2017. She assures me it's fine as it’s ‘in range’ [10 – 180]. She insists I ‘categorically cannot have low B12 symptoms’ with an ‘above range’ B12

Question please
I am 64 this year. I lost my Son who was killed in action when I was 49 and had my last period at 52. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia but lately have had hot flushes and although I'm always exhausted I've felt even more so. It appears my blood tests were satisfactory. My Nurse Practitioner believes

Most efficient way to increase folate?
When I last tested in June my folate was very low, despite iron, Vit D and ferritin being ok. My ferritin is never brilliant, and v slow to increase but it doesn’t seem to cause me any issues. Folate however was below range (2.08ug/l) on the medichecks system. I did continue my supplements but had to

Hormone replacement therapy for bone strength
I have been taking Activelle for the past ten years and am still in osteopenia and my scores have improved. I have read that use of HRT can cause breast cancer. My GP said to continue with the HRT. Any thoughts?
