When I last tested in June my folate was very low, despite iron, Vit D and ferritin being ok. My ferritin is never brilliant, and v slow to increase but it doesn’t seem to cause me any issues.
Folate however was below range (2.08ug/l) on the medichecks system. I did continue my supplements but had to stop them ahead of a hip replacement on August. Since then I’ve been a bit lax in taking my supplements. (New kitchen , different layout, out of sight etc!).
Recently I’ve been suffering with palpitations, flushing with the slightest sniff of alcohol, breathlessness, and just generally feeling like my T3 isn’t quite as effective. Is suspect it’s the vits and mins that are the issue and not the T3 dose.
So since in June it was already low, plus surgery and then being very poor at supplementing, I suspect my level is really poor by now. I usually supplement with b complex, but is there a more efficient way to increase my folate level?

I have the MTHFR genes which mean I'm not good at using folate. There is only one way of raising folate that I know of, and that is to take it. The Thorne B complex didn't have enough folate in it for me, so I have slowly added 400mcgs at time until I felt it was the right amount, which turned out to be 1800mcgs for me.
We are all different and dose increments should be added slowly over weeks.
When I want to raise my own folate I take methylfolate which can easily be bought from Amazon or other websites selling supplements. I take a dose of 1000mcg per day, three or four days a week. I take it on top of Thorne Basic B. I take one capsule per day of the Thorne.
Since excessive iron is dangerous and the body can't get rid of it then it is suggested that people always do an iron panel to be sure they actually need iron supplements.
I have the MTHFR gene variation, as advised here I take Thorne Basic B Complex which after 12 weeks raised it by only 10. Like others have said too I found an extra Methylfolate supplement from Amazon seems to be helping me. Hair has stopped falling out which is a bonus. Due to test again in late Jan so will find out if that’s helping. 🦋💚🦋
