I've lost all hope.
I am so fed up and at the end of my rope. I have been trying to get treatment for over five years now. There have been several GPs (due to the first one leaving the practice and Covid necessitating using who you are given). There have been several gynaecologists and scans. I get told one thing and

Bisphosphonate success?
I am in desperate need of some positivity and success stories regarding the use of bisphophonates, particularly the once a week for 2-3 years regimen, and then hopefully a drug holiday. The word I see most often on this site is "terrified", as I also am, by other readers considering the prospect of

Negative thoughts won’t stop
Negative thought are coming without end They keep me stuck in anxiety and depression Most are regrets about the past Sometimes I also think about how wonderful life would be if only I had not done this or that They are driving me crazy They had stopped for about 6 months but now back as strong as ever

What dosage of calcium supplement is recommended when on prednisolone?
I'm on 7.5mg of prednisolone. At my rheumatologists appointment today I advised him that I wouldn't be taking up his recommendation of Alendronic Acid despite having a very small amount of osteoporosis in my lower lumber region. I advised him that I was taking Caltrate which has 600mg calcium/200 IU

So many capsules, tablets, powders to swallow....
Hello everyone, I trust this post of mine finds you well. I wanted to ask you, how do you deal with all these things we have to swallow? More than once I found myself choking on a huge omega 3 capsule or a polyvitamin one. Maybe even a Mg capsule. And what about the constant need to drink, I don't even

Reversed my Hashimoto's with dietary and lifestyle changes
I was diagnosed about three years ago with Hashimoto's. All my thyroid hormone levels were normal but my anti-TPO antibodies were out of range. I had all the usual symptoms: fatigue, weight gain and then the inability to lose weight, hair loss, dry skin, you name it. I also developed severe cold urticaria

Fatigue--Side effects of Ursodiol?
Hi I am new to this forum and grateful that it exists. I have just been diagnosed with PBC (early stage) and was put on Ursodiol. I am 62 and otherwise really healthy and fit. Yet at this point. I am really struggling with fatigue (and occasional dizzy spells) and wondering if anybody else experienced

Do any supplements work?
Do any supplements work? I've read through many, many posts on this site claiming that particular supplements, or combinations of supplements, slow or stop or reverse the progression of Parkinson's Disease. Off the top of my head, I've seen posts on the following: - Vitamin B1 - CoQ 10 - Ceylon

Venting my struggle with mental/emotional well-being
Quick backstory. I contracted Covid in June of 2019 and seemingly recovered July 2020. In Nov. 2020 I developed parosmia as a result of Covid which has altered my sense of smell and taste to a point where familiar scents/tastes are now unpleasant and even repulsive. Back in Dec. I had a panic attack

A small molecule induces readthrough of cystic fibrosis CFTR nonsense mutations
An experimental drug reported in Nature Communications suggests that a “path is clearly achievable” to treat currently untreatable cases of cystic fibrosis disease caused by nonsense mutations. This includes about 11 percent of cystic fibrosis patients, as well as patients with other genetic diseases
