Anxiety

Hello,

I am new on here. I have been dealing with anxiety pretty much all my life but has gotten extremely bad over the last 4 months. I was getting panic attacks also but I haven’t had one in a month. My doctor wants me to start Buspar. Do you or anyone you know take this and does it help? Im worried about taking it and it making me feel worse.

Buspar is pretty innocuous as far as meds go. At least that's what I assume, since my GI specialist prescribed it when I mentioned the stress might be churning up my stomach. He assured me that it wasn't a heavy duty medication (I think his daughter was a psychiatrist?). I didn't personally get any benefit from it, but no side effects either. It's possible I just wasn't on it long enough. I'd say if your doctor is suggesting it, give it a shot. They believe it won't hurt you, and I wasn't personally bothered by it. I would try not to worry too much about this one.
