Ateritis, arthritis... how to make friends and family recognise the difference!
I have just been trying to explain GCA to some former work colleagues and been stumped trying to convincingly make the distinction between arteritis and arthritis (similar pronunciation, even in French 😏) to those not familiar with our condition. Very frustrating when they come back with "Oh, yes, my

hi just wondering if anyone else has the same issue. I have no sensation to touch from the top of my left outer thigh down to my knee. I have an awful burning sensation at times in this area and it’s very painful to lean on that side. I have spoken about it to my GP and he says it’s bursitis but my

Seeking a good travel insurance company for rheumatoid arthritis
Just wondered if anyone has any advise on travel companies they have used that covers rheumatoid arthritis. Also I noticed that for Corona virus cover you have to be up to date with COVID vaccines and unfortunately I missed the spring booster so any advise for cover would be gratefully received. Many

Legs thighs and calfs pain
Legs thighs and calfs started hurting after reducing prednisone from 20.0 to 17.5 mg 3 days ago. Should I stay at 17.5 mg and give it more time to see if the pain diminishes.

Different
Hello, I have different types of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and arthritis in the rest of my joints, ankles, hands and such. I also have crepitus in my right shoulder due to an accident which has also damaged my back. Yes, I know, need a new body but until medical science catches

Diagnosis ,please
I have been seeing a rheumatologist for 3 years now. The one I was seeing retired and I have a younger Dr. that seems to care . I was told by him that my ANA markers are consistent with Lupus and RA . I have several "active" diagnoses ,RA, PMR, Osteo arthritis, and osteoporosis, but the old Dr. would

CRP and ESR
I know it is a well known fact on this forum that ESR and CRP are unreliable while on Actemra. But most rheumatologists don't seem to know that. So I found this one study of many out there that conclude this fact so I can show my rheumatologist and anyone here interested....thank you PMRpro and DL as

Osteoarthritis / Bone Edema / Injections / Hip Replacement
HI, I'm 45, I have been managing Osteoarthritis / Hip Bone Edema for 2.5 years. Pain has increased steadily over the past few months and I now can't walk more than 1mile / 6,000 steps a day without having to rest for 3/4 days after, another complication is if I do push it and do too much over a few

PMR turns into 3 things, per my Rheumo
I had PMR and on Predisone for 1 1/2 years, and off of it for 5 months. I have bad pain in all joints/muscles and much stiffness. Inflammatory blood tests are OK - CRP and ESr fairly low, and all autoimmune blood tests OK including Rheumatoid Factor, etc. and temporal Ultrasound OK for GCA. Had

Tiredness - can anyone suggest ways to help with tiredness caused by rheumatoid arthritis?
My drugs are controlling the inflamation caused by RA, but I am still very tired, not able to do the amount I used to do. Any ideas other than pacing myself? Any good vitamins etc? thanks
