POTS stands for paroxysmal
tachycardia
syndrome: or, in plain English, fainting and a fast heartbeat on standing up. (Often these patients’ histories go back to episodes of fainting in school).

AF hypothyroid
Had horrible viral illness at time of diagnosis and was found to have
Tachycardia
. Had stress echo, bp monitor all normal but 2 week cardiac monitor showed a single 7 second episode of AF. I'm now awaiting a cardiac physiologist appt.

Ablation
Anyway, all OK, a bit sore, warned that I could get
tachycardia
for 6-8 weeks. Back to see the Doctor in 3 months. The theatre was cold, as was everything they touched me with. Not much sedation for this operation, if it had been atrial flutter it would have meant a longer op and more sedation.

Two weeks post ablation
Unfortunately I am still having atrial
tachycardia
after getting up and showering but it does seem to ease if I then sit down for half an hour or so afterwards.

Post ablation
In fact the consultant said that it was extremely unusual for atrial
tachycardia
to happen after an ablation. Perhaps someone on this forum has some positive news to share if they have experienced this - I really do hope so......

Prednisolone diary 3 - steady on 4.5mg
Otherwise, my symptoms of sweating, shaking, "heart pain",
tachycardia
, heartburn, and fatigue seem to come and go in a bunch. They might be mild, moderate or severe, but whatever it is, they are all at that same level. Which perhaps suggests they are part of a single underlying process.

Success Rate of Ablation on this Forum
Just four successes (and BobD had to be cardioverted 4 times after ablation for
tachycardia
, so does that count as success?) For me success would mean nor more AF plus no new trouble like a lot of ectopics f.ex.

Something new to me!
Been Googling it and wondered if this is paroxysmal supraventricular
tachycardia
? And is it worth going back to see my EP do you think? Thank you Koll

Am I ready for 25 mins?
I did do some research but there doesn't seem to be a conclusive answer, possible causes are dehydration, anemia (caused by an iron or vitamin B12 deficiency) and
tachycardia
.

Prednisolone diary 2 - from 5 to 4.5mg
Although my lung inflammation has benefited greatly in this time, I have developed severe daily episodes of sweating,
tachycardia
, extreme fatigue, nausea and shaking. So my goal is to reduce by 0.5mg every 2 weeks, getting rid of these symptoms without jeopardising my lungs.

A year post ablation - update
In the end it took six months, in my case, until I really started to feel back to normal.... with monthly ectopics and occasional atrial
tachycardia
. I also had some afib runs in the first three months.

Newly diagnosed and feeling alone
I have a number of medical conditions, Ehlers Danlos type 3 at the highest end of the beighton scale, postural orthostatic
tachycardia
and vasovagal syncope, so we have dealt with a lot over the past few years. However, the fear which is running though is currently is so upsetting.

Experiencing palpitations - believe it may be SVT
Every time I've been to A&E the ECG has shown no irregularities, other than sinus
tachycardia
. I think I may be suffering from supra ventricular
tachycardia
, but until I get a diagnosis of the cardiologist I'm just stuck worrying.

Prevalence of Cardiac Arrhythmias in Hypothyroid and Euthyroid Patients
Chi-square analysis revealed a higher prevalence of ventricular
tachycardia
(p=0.04) and any ventricular arrhythmia in the hypothyroid group (p=0.007). This relatively large case control study revealed a statistically higher prevalence of ventricular arrhythmias in hypothyroidism.

Has anyone experienced a-fib and
tachycardia
? How did you fare? I hate thoughts of yet another medicine (main side-effect = fatigue). Overall very discouraged about the recurrent infection/accumulation of fluid, and new cardiac issue. I'm 49, diagnosed at age 40 stage 2-3, now have cirrhosis.
