My life with an ileostomy from the start
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2002. It progressed quite quickly and by December 2005 I was virtually housebound because of incontinence. In March 2096 I haemorrhaged and was admitted to hospital. I was given high dose steroids for three weeks in an attempt to get the UC under control but

Not all pain down to RA - a revelation....
I've been feeling really low lately - I had steroid injections in my foot in January which meant that I've thankfully had no pain there since which was great. However, I then seem to have had really painful shoulders, elbow and hips in rotation, one after the other. When I had an appointment with

Has anyone taken photographs of the inflamed joints to their consultant/ rhuemy nurse? If so how many?
I have unfortunately been seen by three different consultants over the last six months. First appointment- very little inflammation visible- methotrexate re introduced to my Humira. Second appointment- Visible inflammation- steroid injection given. Third appointment- within 4 weeks of having steroid

Do steroid injection into the joints always work?
I recently had steriod injections into the hip trochanter for bursitis and also into my knee for a bakers cyst. I have had no relief from the pain or swelling since these injections, just wondered had anyone else had similar treatments with any success. Would appreciate any advice you can offer

Does anyone else get inflamed one minute and not the next!
Has anyone experienced bouts of on /off inflammation throughout the day? If I rest it goes down, if I do anything it flares up again. I'm on Humira and Methotrexate was added in again in September after a less than good experience with a registrar rheumy- felt rail roaded into taking it in tablet form

Steroid injections the only answer for me?
Hi all, I had the injection in the spine early November last year and the pain in my right leg and buttocks was literally gone. Oh what bliss! After two weeks the arthritis in the spine became much more painful, I am not sure if it was my brain telling me that now one severe pain has gone, we can get
