Weight problems
Afternoon all, hope you're all enjoying the sunshine. Just a quickie. Anyone else put on loads of weight through steroid injections throughout the years? I didn't know they made you gain weight. I've put on 3 stone in the last 2 years!! Does methotrexate make you loose the weight or make you put it

L5/S1 microdiscectomy
I am going into hospital next week for a microdiscectomy. After nearly 18 months of pain, becoming severe over the last 5 months leading to me becoming housebound for the last 3 months, I am having surgery. I have had physio, acupuncture, epidural steroid injection and a nerve root injection as well

New to PMR and not getting that much info
Last year, after many months of problems with my hips, I had a left hip replacement, within 6 weeks the doc said I had gout in my left foot (never had it before) I had no swelling, redness, hotness, it just hurt so the doc gave me naproxen which helped a little, then back to doc (saw another gp) who

IV Steroid with first infusion of Rituximab .. I feel as stiff as ever. :-(
Hi All .. posted briefly about my first Rituximab last Tuesday. Seven days on and I had hoped the IV steroid (Prednisilone) I was given prior to commencing the Rituximab infusion would have given me a bit more relief than it has. I am still almost bed bound and so tired I am sleeping anything up to

Good news

Tomorrow's good and bad
Long time, no post! Been a mix of grim and giggleworthy. As much joy as there was pain, and there's been loads of both, that's for sure. Bittersweet! Tomorrow brings with it joy and pain too: steroid injections in my knees, for the osteo. Been waiting months. Then annual mammogram in the afternoon.

I have my answers! !
Today was the eagerly anticipated pain clinic appointment. and I have my answers. It is nerve damage to the two nerves either side of the womb. I'm having steroid injections in both of them. she told me it's got a limited chance of working. had anyone else had this experience?

Update Is RA what I have
Hi all just to update you on my previous post and to thank you all for your lovely replies , I have had my blood results which show I am anaemic so that would explain the tiredness , I have also been told I have a twisted spine with wear and tear showing , my GP has finally decided to send me to see

Has anyone suffered from endo pain whilst pregnant?
I had terrible pain in my back and hip, very close to my right ovary (which is where my endo pain seems to focus) all through my pregnancy. I was in a wheelchair for the last 3 months of my pregnancy and have now been on crutches for almost a year. Drs assumed it was SPD but wouldn't test or treat further

Calling all Biologic Boffins! A question about Rituximab being a chimeric biologic.
Due to start Rituximab soon in April, and I understand that Rituximab is made from chimeric properties and was wondering if anyone knows if there is likelihood of any reaction or have known/experienced any reaction due to the fact it is murine ( derived from mouse) as I was allergic to the Enbrel clickpen

Oh blow I've overdone it and feel bad, really frustrating
Well I'm so cross, I've been feeling a bit better this week but tried to do a little more today and now feel awful. My knees are really painful and burning hot and I feel so tired or ill or something, but just plain dreadful. I haven't even done that much. I've taken a few weeks off work at the minute

Who manages your pain?
I'm in a bit of a muddle since moving up north as I've had to change Drs etc. when I was diagnosed It was by a rheumatologist who kept an overall interest in my case, and was the one who called the shots on combinations of medication and Physio etc. this was just as well as my GP at the time didn't believe
