Can anyone help. For a year I have had pain in my elbow top and bottom. My gp said it was tennis and golfers elbow.
I have so far had 3 steroid injections. Helps for a while but back again with vengeance. I don't want to have anymore injections. I have tried Physio. One of my big problems with SLE is joint do you think it is made worse because of this. The only repetitive thing I can say I do is pick up my grandchildren

Well I certainly wasn't expecting to be offered a place on a drugs trial at my hospital appointment!!!
So, some of you know my story but if you're new here, a brief summary ... After having symptoms for over 2 years I was finally diagnosed with RA last summer and started mtx in last August. I've been having steroid injections (4 in total now) to keep me going until the mtx started to work, but it hasn't

Hi there. I have undifferentiated connective tissue disease and not Lupus so I hope its ok to post on here. I've been having trouble with my ankles for a couple of years even when everything else is OK with no hint of a flare. I had a steroid injection once which was helpful for swelling but the feeling

35 + 6 contractions
Hi girls. On Friday at 35 + 2 I was having tightenings so phoned up the delivery suite. They had me in, came out yesterday at 35 + 5. My contractions were regular in hospital and went on the monitor lots of times. Baby is fine. They checked my cervix I'm 1 cm dilated. But because the contractions weren't

Painful knee after hospital
Yesterday I had rheumy appointment. Knee was already painful. After her manipulation, poking and the steroid injection it's excruciating. Can barely stand. I'm asking how common is it to have this reaction to steroid jag? Last night it was burning, responded a little to co coodamol which is all I'm allowed

Hi all. I have been seeing a rheumatologist for some time now & she has given me steroids injections including injections straight into my
hand. Today I go & I get seen by another consultant (but in the same team). He was completely dismissive, refused me injections saying that you should never be given injections into joints without a scan. I asked him why his colleague had be giving me these, he shrugged his shoulders & said she shouldn't

Fighting a Flare!
Last week I went to the GP for the results of the latest blood test which showed my CRP up to 26. Since then I have had increasing pain, especially in my arms and thighs. Today I had an appointment with the GP who does steroid injections because I also have osteoarthritis and tendonitis. He reviewed

Still Waiting (5) NOT.
Yippee - I have a date for my foot operation. 7th February at 8 a.m. Only 14 months since GP first referred me and 6 months since the op was cancelled last July! In view of the time I would assume I will be first on his operating list that morning. I telephoned the Day Centre today to find out what

I'm 37wks pregnant & have been told i will need a steroid injection during labour. I would like a home birth. Has anyone experienced this?
i have been taking prednisalone (10mg / day) throughout my pregnancy and started one year ago as the effects of the methotrexate wore off. All my scans (including extra growth scans) have been fine and i have had a 'normal' pregnancy. This wasn't mentioned until i met a consultant for the third time

Is Gabapentin used for pain relief?
When I was first prescribed gabapentin I thought it was for pain relief. Today my rheumatologist said it wasn't used for pain but for fatigue, and gave me steroid injections instead. Can anyone clarify if it is used for pain, or is it for fatigue?

Happy New Year to everyone and sincere wishes for some quality pain free time in 2014.
I've been missing for a while again, because my shoulders and upper spine have been so painful and sitting at my lap top just aggravated it more. But, I have been following some of your stories, poems etc. I had a steroid injection in the worst shoulder on Christmas eve which made me a bit more comfortable

As one year ends a new one will begin...........
Hi all, hope you had a relatively pain free Christmas. As 2013 draws to an end, I am thinking thank goodness that year is over :( Purely because of the pain I have suffered on a daily basis. I am still on oral steroids (pred) and have not been able to reduce from 15mg for the past 6 months. I have been

Sorry I know it's nearly Christmas but feeling a bit fed up ...
Hi everyone, I having been on site for a bit to keep up with everyone's news, but I hope you're all as well you can be and looking for to the festivities next week. I started mtx in August after my diagnosis of RA. I've been slowly increasing and I'm now taking 20 mg a week. The side effects initially

GP and consultant not in agreement
Hi everyone, not been here for a while going through a lot of pain and not getting very far with GP and consultant. RA nurse sent fax to GP suggesting I get a steroid injection for painful and swollen hands, GP not happy to do this because of my diabetes, so told to double naproxen from 250mg twice
