Can a GP give a steroid injection?
Can a GP give a steroid injection in the buttocks? I have been given them in the knee by the rheumy team before, and wondered if as the buttock was a less specialised area, the GP could do it. Anne

Do thyroid problems affect tendons and ligaments?
G.P. wasn't me to have steroid injections in my feet for morton's neuroma. I've been told they can cause the tendon and ligaments to collapse.(Especially if you have several injections.) This can cause flat feet, yet another problem. Anyone know anything about this please ??

leflunomide has started to make me feel sick
I have been on Leflunomide for 2 weeks. To start with I felt really tired but no other problems. Then yesterday morning my stomach felt a bit rough. It wore off, but today it has been bad all day. I haven't been able to eat properly and have nausea and feel weak and washed out. I rang the rheumy nurse

When can I have another steroid injection?
Recently had my meds changed. Was on 20mg lefluomide and 300mg hydroxy, which was not very effective....had to have a steroid injection 6 weeks ago to calm things down. Now on 10mg mtx, 10mg Lefluomide and 300mg hydroxy. As my lefluomide has been decreased and mtx can take many weeks to click in, I'm

Feeling a bit down...
I was diagnosed with early RA a couple of weeks ago and I've started methotrexate. I've only taken two doses and also had a steroid injection. I'm still on 90mg Arcoxia and 30mg/500mg Co-Codamol. I'm feeling a bit down because I don't feel much improvement. The steroid has improved my foot pain slightly

Help Needed to Get Chronic Pain on the Map. PLEASE READ and Help Improve Our Care and Treatment
I have previously written a post about there being too many people on here who've had poor treatment by health professionals and who are suffering with horrendous chronic pain and not being listened to. Very little is discussed about chronic pain in the media so I want to change this and I need your

Canada Here I come!!! :-)
Thankfully, my GP as promised got me pain free enough so I can get to see my family. Earlier in the year I was in soooo much pain with RA and a prolapsed disc amongst other things. The specialist gave me an epidural for my back and my GP gave me steroids for 4 weeks along with other pain control medications

Has anyone ever been referred to a pain specialist??
Hello everyone I wanted to know if anyone had ever been referred to a pain specialist? If so did they help with your pain symptoms? I am in constant pain and am beginning to get to my wits end!! Cant cope with being in all this pain. My ds dna antibody keeps rising and my consultant will not increase

What can I expect once Metorexate is started?
Hi. I am new to the site (I have been browsing for the past month) and was diagnosed just before Christmas. I had an accident last May which required a small op on my foot in July - that's when I got my first symptom in my finger, stiffness for a few weeks followed by swollen knuckle. This carried on

Does anyone else go through times when you don't think there is anything wrong and its all your own doing. need to pull your self together!
I can remember the initial time I couldn't get out of bed and how long I was off sick. I know I'm on meds and I know it's 'still evolving'. I still get fatigue and brain fog but I don't seem to have the same degree of pain most people on here have. And I know that's because I've had steroid injections

Still No Specialist
I have now been waiting 9 months to get another appointment with a Liver specialist (NHS). My usual one, who was very nice, left the hospital I attend in December 2013. My last appointment was August 2013. It was arranged as shared care between hospital and Gp. If I am unwell my Gp has no idea how to

Hey guys, I'm new to this site. After being in pain for the better part of 12 yrs with the last 4 getting worse, I finally got a referal to a Neuro surgeon. I was given an MRI and was told that's what it showed.. My right leg constantly falls asleep and it's actually painful when the feeling comes back
