New to rheumatoid arthritis area - advice on process for first steps please.
I was diagnosed as having a severely underactive thyroid in Jan this year and told that I would feel wonderful after six weeks on medication. I am still on 175mcg of levothyroxine and to cut a long story short, still feel unwell. Mainly muscle, joint pain in hands, elbows, feet and knees. My doctor

CRPS ---- aka ---- CRAPS!
Hello I am a mid 50 year old woman living with RSD now known as CRPS for 5 years and there seems to be no end to it. My complaint started with a twisted ankle and subsequent fluid build up. Next, after 3 steroid injections - those needles are craaazy! - I underwent surgery and that is when I started

Saline injections
Hello all, I hope you are as well as possible and keeping warm tonight. Has anyone had a saline injection in a spasmed muscle? I've had steroid injections in the site but can't have any more.

Steroid Injections
I saw my Rheumy last week and she confirmed I am having a flare at the moment. She still would like me to go on Methotrexate or Sulphasalazine. I have refused them in the past and still don't want to take them. She said I could have steroid injections, 3 in total a fortnight apart, but she said

See, I knew I was right. It's RA flare not OA!
Some of you may remember from my last posts that I have been off MTX for 6 months due to chest infections. Have been flaring in knee and elbow and finally managed to get an earlier appointment with my Rheumy to try to sort out some new medication. However, Rheumy did not think my pain was due to RA but

Newly diagnosed - when to take meds?
After thinking I may have RD for over a year, it was finally confirmed yesterday. I did see a locum rheumie last year but I think there was a mix up as the consultant yesterday asked why I'd never had a follow up appointment. Anyway, that's irrelevant now. I'm being started on DMARD combination therapy

Newly Diagnosed
Hi-- I was diagnosed with RA and severe carple tunnel in both hands on Friday. Felt quite relieved to finally find out what was causing the horrid symptoms I have had for the past 4 years. I was given a steroid injection on Friday, andwas wondering if anyone knows how long it will take to kick in. Thanks

Be Positive
Hello Friends, When I learnt that I am a patient of Rheumatoid Arthritis, first I suffered and soon determined to reject all the weaknesses it’s going to cause me physically, mentally and emotionally. I diverted my whole energy and mind away from the disease and focused on developing something that needed

Steroid injection and leg cramps
Hi, I had a steroid injection in my bum 2 days ago and last night I suffered terrible cramps in both calves, I haven't had leg cramps like that before so can't help thinking it's to do with the injection. Has anyone else had similar issues? I'm currently taking sulphasalazine, naproxen, omeprazole, gabapentin

RA
I've been taking methotrexate for 6 weeks now, got up to six 2.5 tablets a week and one folic acid tablet a week. Well I have to say that I felt sick and nauseous for at least 3 to 4 days from taking it. I was also feeling really dizzy and even fell down the stairs and bruised myself. Went back to hospital
