Hello all, I hope you are as well as possible and keeping warm tonight. Has anyone had a saline injection in a spasmed muscle? I've had steroid injections in the site but can't have any more.

Saline injections
Hi Furry
I had not heard that you could have saline injections to be honest, as it is just a salt solution I believe? There is a feature page about it on NHS Choices and I have pasted you the link below:

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this if you go ahead and try this?
Take care

Well you can have dry needling and injections of local anaesthetic, very effective for pain, and in fact although doctors in UK don't seem to follow the rules, doctors in USA think that steroids are counter-indicated in myofascial pain syndrome, which most people with fibro have, and are the reasons why injections into the muscle (the trigger point) work. So I guess feel thankful that you are not having more steroids and see how you go. Love and hugs x
Hi thanks for your replies and the link. I have managed to get an appointment with the GP this afternoon, not my GP though unfortunately. Also requested an appointment at the pain clinic so hope that's not too long arriving, I made inquiries and they do trigger point injections there. Thanks again, take care. X
