Declined lupus Centre help
Hi all, hope you're all doing as well as you can be. Just thought I'd give you an update on something that went from being so hopeful to now being left to struggle once again. If you know my previous posts just before Christmas I'd had a steroid injection and was waiting to see professor D'cruz in London

Been on
steroids
for suspected GCA not quite three weeks now - went down from 50 mg to 40mg after first week. Not generally feeling too bad though not as bright as I was in the first few days of steroid honeymoon.

I have been poorly since February and have had 2 courses of Clarithymycin because I have Bronchiectasis and started the
steroids
on the 2nd course of ABs as I am So ill on them. I felt dreadful. My other post on here I wrote earlier that I was coming down off of them. I did the 3 day go down one.

pred causing shaking/cramps
The shakiness is worse some days rhan others and Both her and my dad just seem to have gotten it into their heads that quicker she comes down of
steroids
these symptoms will all stop and while he may be right im trying to explain that mum needs to be on pred because of GCA as there is no other treatment

A new RA symptom (ankle)?
I'm happily taking
steroids
, MTX and sulphazalasine and, most likely due to the
steroids
, am feeling relatively good. We'll see how things go now that my dose is tapering below usual effectiveness.

taking steroids during the night
as I suffer with a fuzzy head for about 4 to 6 hours after taking my
steroids
at breakfast, I am thinking about taking them about 2am. Can I do this and what would I need to eat with them. This would be for about a week after each taper when everything settles down

immunology testing
- that I might need to be prescribed
steroids
, or might like to get some immunology tests. We are trying naturally - have been for 2 years - whilst I wait to hear if I’ll be made redundant so can’t afford ivf currently & would like to know I’ve thrown everything at a natural attempt.

Feeling poorly
Evening everyone, I have continued to feel increasingly unwell. Shoulder and neck pain continues and keeps me awake or wakes me up every night now. I sometimes wake up with sweat around my neck and chest. The steroid injection I had 13 days ago helped a bit to decrease the intensity of pain but it hasn

I've learned that dehydration and
steroids
are triggers for me. I'm 69 years old and retired. I have had some stress recently in that my wife has broken her hip and needs more care than usual. I take 1000mg of magnesium glysenate daily and a prescription potassium.

GP appointment and blood tests - will recent steroid injection skew results?
Afternoon everyone, I had a GP appointment yesterday to discuss my symptoms. Went through everything that has happened since the summer. She sent me for blood tests today which included CRP, ESR, Rheumatoid factor and various other tests relating to autoimmune conditions. She insisted I call back for

what next?
I was diagnosed with PMR five years ago and my gp kept me on Prednisolone for two years which resulted in a catalogue of side effects including glaucoma and cataracts. My diagnosis was confirmed as RA shortly after. I have been taking methotrexate successfully since. However my condition has worsened

Lost hearing, vertigo and now rash is this?
I hope someone can help me. I was diagnosed with MCAS in 2015 at Guys and St Thomas then discharged when the drugs started to work. I’ve been in and out of hospital for chronic IC and unexplained gallbladder inflammation which was extremely painful on numerous occasions. Every time I go in I end up

rheumatologist and gp have differing views on treatments.
The
steroids
have caused a lot of health problems and my gp made an appointment to see a rheumatologist. I have seen him once and am going back in two weeks time. The rheumatologist sent a treatment plan to my gp about reducing
steroids
and seeing a neurological plus a gastroenterologist.

Triple therapy and Prednisolone
When I went to see my GP a few weeks ago I had slight, sporadic symptoms and was planning to wait until I am off
steroids
, but now I feel nauseous all the time and can't sleep through the night, so something needs to be done, hence interfering with my taper seems inevitable.

Mannitol challenge
I obviously don’t want to be taking the
steroids
; inhalers; antibiotics etc if I don’t need to - it would be wonderful not to have to take these, particularly as they have caused health problems.

following on from my last post …….Turns out no PMR or GCA
This is why my rheumatologist has asked me to come off
steroids
. Are these symptoms just because I am coming off quickly or is it more likely that I do have PMR , but being on such high
steroids
before the scan it wouldn’t show up and I am actually having a flare up.

Yesterday, I went to my Pilates class but as our trainer was on holiday someone else was teaching what seemed like yoga on
steroids
.  We hardly had time to get from one move to the next, and were my glutes aching this morning! Â
