Autoimmune Encephilitis
They are treating her aggressively with 7 days of
steroids
and 7 days of PLEX, and talked about something called IVIG after those 2. She hasn’t talked in the past week, only opens her eyes every other day for a few seconds, and cannot communicate.

Busy day today - O + show + interviews
This time around, they gave me the
steroids
5-10 min before Benadryl and I did not feel any effect from the Benadryl. - then tonight my husband took me to see a Jerry Seinfeld show. So much laughing. He's so good. This was great. I recommend it to everybody.

feeling depressed for no reason.
Has anyone else had this problem with reducing the
steroids
. I did lose my partner last year, but I don’t think this is the cause.

Flare up or just Fatigue?
I also have breathlessness which has all been checked out - not heart or lungs - just
steroids
. The same is with the blurred long sight. I am having a cataract operation next month but was told the blurred vision may persist.

Advice please
I chased and got a different doctor who was horrified that I had been on
steroids
so long. Sorry for the ramble but my question is that now I am clear of
steroids
(last one 28/09/23 I appear to have developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Decision about T3 and T4 dosing
I'm already trying to reduce daily
steroids
(prednisolone for Polymyalgia) and really don't want to go hypo as well. T3 and T4 already do not look high to me! What would people suggest as the best way forward?

Good news about steroids!
Having had a massive weight gain on high dose
steroids
personally, followed by a very long battle to get my weight back down once on a maintanence dose and also requiring anti-hypertensive treatment, I found that very reassuring - as I cannot now come off the low (5mg) daily dose.

I would rather not be on it but want to find a way that I can get a cold without having to resort to

and chest infections from asthma.

Head MRI
I've been on prednisolone to help the plexopathy, which coincidentally helped the other symptoms noted above, sadly I'm now off the
steroids
and things are declining again.

Long term side effects of using steroids
https://www.verywellhealth.com/steroid-side-effects-83089 A huge long description of all the problems with
steroids
. It was not till I saw specialists like Endocrinologist AND Rheumatologist that I was made more aware of the concerns.

can someone point me towards posts on PMR/
steroids
and effect on Thyroid? I have been a HU member for some 8/9 years in regard to my AI hypothyroidism and had a diagnosis of PMR in June. I need to understand the impact of the combination of the two. Thanks a lot

hot flushes
Nothing like when they were at their worst when I was younger, but boy do they wake me up, when my sleep is pretty poor anyway, since the
steroids
. I had Two absolute boilers last night. I was on hrt for many years and came off because of the breast cancer risk.

My CRP was 17 , the GP said in an ideal world it should’ve gone down to less than 3 after 2 weeks on 15g pred .Appointment made with rheumatologist, he did an ultra sound scan ,no signs of GCA ( I believe to be expected as have been on
steroids
) .
