Asthma & heart rate
Having just had the second course of
steroids
in 2 months, it would seem that this exacerbation had also affected my heart, leading to an irregular heartbeat. I seem to recall a similar thing happening to me about 5 years ago, when I had a chest infection but it sorted itself out once I was better.

upping steroids short term to boost recovery?
writing on behalf of my mum who is getting over a respiratory tract infection (or not getting over it to be precise). She has long PMR (getting on 40 yr) and is constantly trying to reduce pred. I recall reading in this forum a recommendation to temporarily increase dose when ill / having surgery etc

Steroids
for two weeks. Developed significant muscle weakness, dizziness and had times of altered consciousness. Very scary! Ended up in Cairns Base Hospital after seeing Rheumatologist who wanted to be sure symptoms were not due to anything else., Was taken cold turkey off

Itraconazole.
I ended up needing
steroids
. I’m now on my last two tablets so I just hope I’m going to be ok without them. Apparently it’s a manufactures problem. It is a bit worrying. Is anyone else having the same problem.

Covid vaccination in England for 75 & over & those on 20mg steroids at this moment, & 20mg for over one month
The criteria for
steroids
…youhave to be on at least 20mg, & you have to be on that dose for over one month, NOW, in order to get the jab in England.I explained PMR users & flares…but he said surely even in a flare you would not be above 20mg for over a whole month.

urinary urgency after SBRT
His radiologist had him to take
steroids
for 5 days, but no improvement. His urologist told him to double his alfuzison. He started that a couple days ago and no improvement. His ruination is better during the day. Is this a normal side effect? Will it go away? What did you do to treat it?

Help needed
Apart from that I was thinking as I am male I could consider anabolic
steroids
to increase muscle mass which which buy me some more time. Any thoughts about what is going on with me? Many thanks for reading.

upcoming PET scan
He has little appetite: could it be because he’s not taking
steroids
like he has the last 20 days (prescribed by an ortho doc who wanted him to go to PT)? The PT looked at his record and saw he has mets at L5 and refused to do PT until Joe gets the PET. I’m ramble-writing.

Stereotypes, getting older and illness
Since taking Pred and 20 months of very slow improvement I have been fortunate- so far not taking anything for granted to be off the
steroids
for the last 5 months.

COPD & thyroid problems
After having what I thought was an elongated COPD exacerbation lasting over 8 weeks which has resulted in me taking 4 lots of antibiotics and 2 lots of
steroids
, it’s now been suggested that I may have a thyroid problem.

I am really scared of taking
steroids
, I know they help people, but i've read so many bad side effects. Is this something that i can just live with or do
steroids
heal it quicker? I would like some info before i get to specialist and be talked into something i dont need.

Transfer #3 protocol decisions- would love some input on medicated vs natural FET and Steroid use
My consultant is now suggesting we go back to a medicated transfer because at least that one implanted, and that we add
steroids
in case of any inflammation or auto immune response causing issues.

Each time I see him he ups my
steroids
, but advice on living with uncontrolled asthma is lacking. I eventually got fed up and went to a private respiratory physio and did the asthma UK breathe easy programme. It has been fascinating.
